Voting for bugs is a terrible user QA/Triage system. I said my piece on that here:

I’m usually pretty positive about Microsoft and Asobo because on the whole MSFS has given me purpose and enjoyment and they’ve resurected a hobby I thought was dead and burried.

However there is something not right about how bugs are triaged, accepted and managed. In my opinion, they need a new dedicated system tied to these forums which is updated in realtime which bridges the gap between Zendesk and these discussion and to expose this system to folks who actually give a monkeys like the patch flighting teams and third party developers.

The voting system just doesn’t work, it does nothing to propertly articulate the severity or priority of a bug, issues just seem to get lost in the pages of more established larger known issues which never appear to get addressed, when in actual fact they could be working on some quick wins which would add a lot more value.

My overall pet hate in bug reporting in games (or any software) is this bogus voting system for bugs.

Even a dipstick AI trained on sentiment and post analysis could likely surface key issues that need to be prioritised better. But really it needs QA pros who know the game/sim intimately and are in touch with the user base who can triage the bugs properly.

Microsoft should be paying attention & know this is a QA weak point. Cheaping out on such a key process that ultimately results in a worse product because they’ve neutered a key feedback loop is shooting themselves in the foot.
