Well it looks like I’ve found my first airliner. I was researching this exact plane yesterday and was sad to see none existed on MSFS, then I see this post today. Excellent! Will report back with review after some hours of flying over the weekend.

I admit it. I was a sucker based on bias towards the plane and dev.

At first glance after loading it up 10 minutes ago…

Props are cartoonishly fat. On start the props turn backwards. Trims on all three axes are stuck hard over. Sounds are quiet and low quality. Textures are bland.

Inflight, pitch has very, very little momentum and is grossly over-sensitive. Elevator trim is just as sensitive. Engine throttle response is instantaneous. The plane will takeoff at 90 kph with full flap.

I picked this up hoping it would be the match to Oliver’s JU-52 but so far, it really isn’t. It’s almost like ini had a strong hand in this.

Asobo, be better with your LLs and FFs

Oh and much like things like the MU-2, I’d go the bug-reporting route but where do I start?

Bug: all bad

Thanks for taking one for the team, as it were.

Being an Oliver Moser development, I kind of wonder about its quality. Guessing it’s probably better than AH? Though I didn’t get their other classic models.

I’ve run out of words.

I saw the video and thought “this doesn’t look very nice but hopefully the plane systems are good”. It seems this is not the case so I’m going to say something I never in my life I imagined myself saying: AH at least would have done a beautiful model.

I just looked at the cockpit image on the Marketplace page and was surprised to see, what look like, such low quality textures on the yokes and other surfaces.

I thought we’d be farther along in this regard by 2024.

(Queue the “It’s only $15.” comments.)

Compare that to this of the Junkers, which was the very first MS add-on aircraft:

Why have we gone backwards?

The JU-52 and F13 were why I jumped on this right away, to be honest. Both are far, far better than the FW-200

I was so hyped for this because Oliver was working on it, but it seems something must have gone wrong here. Inibuilds supposedly did the art but we know they can do better than this. Disappointed to say the least.

I was always a fan of Oliver aircraft in the sim. Should I buy it? The first experiences here don’t look good. Both the F13 and Ju52 were brilliant for the price. I was about to buy it today until I read this here !

I had the same feelings and was, for the first time since the Stratoliner, really looking at buying a FF/LL, because I was excited for it.

Sigh.

I would advise you to wait. It doesn’t seem to be a good product at all at this time. Lack of purchases might make it evident it needs to be improved.

This is probably what happened. This plane has a similar look & feel in textures as the Mu2.

It just looks so… bland. It would be nice to see the reference photos they have built this on, for comparison.

My thoughts exactly! iniBuilds has created great looking models like the Shorts or the Scout. But this one looks just as bad as the MU-2.

Hello @TheSupercalle,

Our team used handheld scanners to capture imagery from the world’s only remaining Fw 200 Condor, a non-flightworthy aircraft on static display at the former Berlin Tempelhof Airport.

You can see some footage of the scanning process in our latest Partnership Series video about “The Condorians”, a group of volunteers who worked tirelessly over 20 years to restore this aircraft to museum condition. The scanning footage starts at 5:05 into the video.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Personally I have no issues with how it looks there… But the flight model is worrying. I assumed it would be fairly good - similar to the other aircraft he’s made. How does quality go backwards as you said…?

Unfortunately the result we got in MSFS does not look like the cockpit in the video. I think the scanning might have been good but the texturing is probably quite poorly done?

Away from the issues already highlighted, I don’t quite understand how the propeller animation looks quite so poor. Even if the propeller is painted black, when spinning, it doesn’t ever look this dark.
