An update! And I am not at home to test it I hope someone make a video of it so I can hear the difference
We put a very expensive one-piece windshield into our Saratoga when she went in for paint.
And trust me we were very very very careful with that new shiny plastic.
But after about 250-300 hours flying in SoCal there were very light scratches spread all over.
The only way to prevent that is really to keep the aircraft in the hangar.
Though one Comanche pilot on the field had experimented with the 3M clear film you can apply to the front of your car to prevent rock chipping.
You may be right, but my aircraft are all brand new. I think the highest reading I have is 200 something hours Plus theyâre all stored at a paved airport in a hanger.
Ooh, I like that idea⊠Experimented? Did it work, did he decide which way to go?

Where are you flying?
the Lofoten, Norway
Beautiful place!
It did work fairly well initially, but the surface was relatively soft, so that it was a bit difficult to clean.
Applying und removing the film so that it was distortion free especially for night flight was also a problem.
I think in the end he gave up on the idea, but when L67 was closed and I left for Germany I also lost touch with Ed.
There is a gage labeled Nahe. In the manual it says it is the âTarget flight coupledâ gage. Can someone explain this one to me? It is also on the Horten 229 had has a lighted center. I guess I donât understand this one.
Thanks!
Nahe is probably NĂ€he meaning nearness/distance.
When you are tuned to a VOR, flying toward it and >= 50KM away, the vertical indicator will be at the top of its arc. Once you are < 50KM away, the vertical indicator will start to drop. It will be horizontal when you are on top of the VOR.
If you remain tuned to it, the vertical indicator will begin to drop to indicate the VOR is behind you. It will reach the bottom of its travel once you are >= 50KM away from it.
The needle in the center of the instrument (you probably already know this) indicates your horizontal deviation from the direct path to the tuned VOR.
I find it really useful for making my preparations for the pending heading change and radio frequency change for my next VOR.
What was the update/change log today?
I didnât see an update today. Perhaps you are seeing Thursdayâs update:
Thank you for explaining this. I would imagine on the Horton 229 the light in the center indicates immediate proximity.
I think it was A330Driver made a good point on YouTube, that time-accelerating long-haul flights into 1-2 hours lets people feel the difference in your aircraft at heavy and light loads, whereas a real-world 1-2 hour leg wouldnât burn enough fuel to make a hugely noticeable difference.
Wow, what a great aircraft to fly! I just purchased it and initially struggled with the rather complicated startup procedure but in the air it was really smooth! I flew from LKKV to LKPR, a beautiful little leg.
Iâm not saying there arenât legitimate reasons for time acceleration nor am I saying you need a reason at all. I was simply saying itâs not something I like to do and giving my explanation for it.
For this particular aircraft however I have not noticed any big difference between flying light or heavy though.
As for me, I consider this addon is worth its 10 euros.
I did appreciate that many controls use the generic SDK commands (this is rather rare); as a consequence, mapping to my hardware was simpler than usual.
Sure, there are some exceptions, mainly the fuel system (that is rarely generic), but using Dev | Tools | Behaviors, I could map the valves and pump controls (excluding those never or rarely used: fuel fluctation and dump).
I noticed that the instrument lighting is very low.
I confirm that the Condorians silver blades livery from flighsim.to improves the black propeller disks issue.
The fuel system worked very well for me. I thought it was unique and interesting.
Definitely agree itâs worth the $10. I think if it wasnât for the black opaque props itâd be one of the very best 1st party aircraft.
