Obviously I just posted this in the WU thread, but the wheels don’t touch the ground.

Hello @ExplorerJB,

The hovering issue appears to only occur at some airports:

I was able to reproduce the issue just now at SBRJ:

But not at SBGL or CYVR:

At what airport were you flying when you captured your screenshot?

Thanks,
MSFS Team

I’ve had the hovering issue at two airports as well as a few bush landings on sand bars. Might be a separate issue with the sim itself misaligning where it believes the ground is vs where the ground actually is, as I remember seeing the Hawk Arrow II hovering when landing on sand.

The second thing I noticed is that when you bring the throttle down, and switch to the exterior view, it sounds like the throttle is full and then comes down. as well as shadow flickering beneath the wings.

I don’t see a separate topic for it yet, so I’ll just post it here for now since it’s combined with the WU release.

The CAP-4 doesn’t touch the ground.

I feel silly here, how do I find this addon in FS2024? I searched for it by name in the Marketplace and don’t see it. Is it just part of the World Update and not a separate item?

Hello @Stardrifter2232,

This aircraft is installed automatically and is free for all players. As previously announced by Jorg in a recent Developer Livestream, the next four Local Legends/Famous Flyers (including the CAP-4) will be free to all MSFS 2024 players to make up for the poor launch issues.

You don’t need to redeem the aircraft from the Marketplace; it should install automatically. If the CAP-4 isn’t available to you, please try restarting your sim.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Just select free flight, go to the aircraft menu and search for ‘CAP’ …thats how I found it!

Thank you! I should have assumed it would just appear like the 185 did.

Really cute

EDIT: not able to pre-flight inspect the wheels and the front struts. Only control surfaces seem to work.

No sign of opening doors/windows but flies pretty good. Taking the CAP-4 for a spin right now at SBRJ and SBFI.

Can open the door:

No visible chocks, only a pitot cover:

There’s no actual chocks, not just visible ones - every time I’ve spawned it, it endlessly rolls away from me backwards.

I like the CAP-4. The flight model feels good. :slightly_smiling_face: You can feel that CDF is being used. I miss that with the Cessna 185. Unfortunately, the wheels don’t make contact with the ground.

Love the plane overall and thank you for offering it as a concession.

Only glaring problem I have experienced is the parking brake does not seem to apply properly. It wants to, but it quickly clicks off. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Good plane but just find me a use it in career mode and I would fly it more

I thought the same thing at first. But I think the plane doesn’t have a parking brake.

Which dev did the Cap-4?
Both this an the 185 are as basic as a plane can be.
Nothing wrong with that, many people enjoy simple stick & rudder planes.
But I hope to see something a little more elaborate in the series.

IniBuilds are the developer.

Yeah this plane is as basic as it gets, Its basically a J-3. Good enough for what it is but its too basic for me. I will probably not fly it much, at least it was free
