Local legends canada

The sense of entitlement here is through the roof.

Nobody owes you anything, maybe relax a bit instead of getting all worked up over nothing.

You are astonishingly grumpy for someone who knows they’re getting one of their favorite aircraft in the sim, made by one of the best developers, for free.

Absolutely, I am grumpy regarding the Beaver. No, no one owes me anything, but the implied teasers and then horrible communication about the whole thing for around a year and a half has been ludicrous. It’s great that Asobo is giving it to us for free, but Milviz showed their first work in progress not long after the sim came out and here we are, the Canada world update is coming out and we won’t have a Beaver until Winter? Really poor planning and communication by Milviz and Asobo on this one and it’s been my most desired aircraft since the sim launched.

Don’t like my grumpiness? Feel free to ignore me. Or make your pointed comments. I’m going to have my say on this fiasco. Free is great, but I’d much rather have paid Milviz for it a year ago, or if they were going to take this long, they shouldn’t have made their way too early posts about it that spooked off any other devs seeing the glaring empty spot where the DHC-2 should have been.

The development of MSFS buying it wasn’t until recently, and as you can see on our social media accounts, we stopped teasing the beaver months ago as we were in talks with MSFS so we wouldn’t falsely lead the community (even though the deal wasn’t even struck yet). The Beaver will still be top quality, only now it will be included free into MSFS. We’re sorry if you would rather have it a year ago, but regardless, it wouldn’t have been ready anyway. This way, you have a finished aircraft AND a free one !

swing away champ - swing for the fences
it’s just words on a page.

Looking forward to a very fine and delightfully FREE DH2-c over here - as well as a very nice Ryan Spirit of St. Louis AND that DC-3 / Dakota from AH, lest we forget.

In closing, I can’t wait to see what comes of that Smithsonian partnership in the coming year(s) too - this ought to be pretty good before too long

Well we were all wrong apparently. wasn’t even remotely a Canadian aircraft but instead back to Germany because of Gamescom. Kind of disappointed but it just means I’m looking forward to November even more now.

I’m sure it’ll be great! And I know I shouldn’t obsess. But I live 10 minutes walk from the Vancouver Seaplane Base, CYHC, and I see Beavers coming and going just about every day, and pass the base several times most weeks while exercising. So I just can’t put the darn things out of my mind! I was very disappointed it wasn’t an included aircraft when Asobo released the sim in the first place!

Seeing a Beaver teaser (checks to be sure) literally TWO years ago then seeing multiple other aircraft being released since then has been frustrating! Then early this year more posts so I assumed it was almost ready, surely it has to be ready, right?? Tthen nothing
Until now, and the news is, it’s not coming out until November and it won’t be in the Canada world update!!! Can you see how this could be frustrating for someone seeing the darn planes actually flying around constantly!!!

Seriously, had I known it was going to be well over 2 years after the release of the sim before this aircraft was going to be released I’d have tried my hand at modeling it and finding someone who knows more about the code side of a sim aircraft to partner with and made a freeware version!

Anyways, I’m sure all this will end well and it’ll be awesome. It’s great it’ll be free. The wait will make me appreciate it more. It’s great you are partnered with Asobo. I’ll try switching to decaf.

You can make it all up in my eyes if you make some variety of T-38 for MSFS!!! And I am being patient and polite about the SR-71!!! I’ll try not to make the new branding mean too much!

Tomorrow we will all know what the Canadian local legend is.
A DH-83 would fit the bill (agewise, and it is fits dhe comment of being not Canadian mfg while it still has some Canadian connections. I don’t know whether this aircraft is in development by anyone though and there was no version for earlier sims AFAIK.

Didn’t Jurge already say it was the otter that is in the 40th pack

It is the Beaver that is part of the 40th anniversary edition, not the Otter.
That means the Otter could be this time’s local legend, but Jurge also said this local legend aircraft is not manufactered in Canada, and I think the Otter is. Also, compared to the other local legends the Otter is a bit too recent, but AFAIK there is no rule that all aircraft must be from the 30’s era.

We’ll just have to wait and see

Aquatic mammals where never my strong point.

Easy now. Don’t upset him. He might start holding his breath until he gets a free DH Beaver, that’s PERFECT.

LL is going to be a DC3. Made in “Murica”, and flown ubiquitously, all over Canada, working as a lifeline, to isolated cities/towns.

Nope there is already on in the 40th pack

Welp, there goes my gues
LOL

He also said it was “swapped”. And that it isn’t Canadian. So the original Local Legend you will be getting, for free, with the Anniversary edition. There will be a plane coming out tomorrow, but all we know is “It isn’t exactly Canadian”.

It pretty much took everyone a year before they could start releasing quality planes. Once a company has their first MSFS plane, the rest come easier. So yes, here it is 2 years. And now we are starting to see a lot of great products come our way.

Fairchild FC may be ?

Releasing a non-Canadian plane as the Canadian Local Legend seems a bit strange to me. But we’ll see what they have planned soon enough.

AH made an Otter DHC-3 for FSX P3D back when - it would be nice to have a water buffalo like this in the Canadian North country
