Dear Folksā¦.is it sometime comming??? When will we have a L-188 in the FS (2020 and 2024)???
There isnāt one known to be in development at this time, noting we havenāt seen any detailed rendition in many years though a defunct Japanese dev made a freeware one for FSX/P3D when those sims were popular.
Iād expect a P-3 Orion before an L-188 due to being the more well known and, more importantly, a more recently used derivative. Most sim users will only use aircraft that are currently in operation with the airlines so any Electra would likely come as a Famous Flyer or Local Legend so that some portion of profits via contract can be guaranteed. Otherwise I just donāt think itāll sell well due to being a couple generations removed from the memories of much of the current player base.
I think thatās why we saw the YS-11 released as a Local Legend, noting a handful of users lamenting that efforts werenāt spent on a modern aircraft, but it still seems popular noting that, other than a couple of exceptions, the type was retired from airline use by 2006.
All in all, I think an Electra or P-3 would be great, but the market isnāt there so it would have to be released under contract.

There was an L188 in FSX as I used to fly it a fair bit.
There is a nice freeware L-188 that looks good in X Plane 12, with lots of liveries.

There is a gentleman that has been working on his own p3 and hurricane hunting. Supposedly it has the interior from an a400
