I just did a flight in Alaska in F2024 and I noticed again what I noticed before in FS2020. The LOD is still tied to the latitude of the area you fly in.
Meaning: the further North (or South) you go in the world, the higher LOD settings are required to get the same detail in the distance as when you are closer to the equator.
For example: while an LOD setting of 100 is fine in the lower 48 of the US, you need to go to 200 or even 400 around Sitka to get the same terrain texture and tree details in the distance. If you keep it at LOD 100, trees and terrain textures disappear or get much lower in quality much closer to the aircraft.
