LOD problem in SU2

Hello, I have the impression that LOD is much worse than before the beta… only after entering 400 LOD the terrain starts to resemble the previous one with settings of about 150 max… it seems to me that VR optimization should not look like this… Please improve LOD in VR - THANK YOU

Agreed. It seems like LOD needs be set really high now to appear like LOD 200 used to look like. Im not flying VR, seems like it was also affecting normal sim. Perhaps internet or bandwidth related, though i had no issues with my internet today and im getting 1gbit

Yes me too, much much worse in SU2 Beta. Just turning down the max for everyone is not an optimisation we could already set it to lower if we needed to.

Same here, it looks pretty bad at locations like sedona, or monument valley.
The mountains in the distance turn into rough polygons.

Noticed this as well, though not in all locations. I was using TLOD 300 at the time.

This was one of the update items in the release info:

“Improved LODs on many assets”

but not sure what this actually points to. However, I’m still noticing you have to get very close to other aircraft and objects for them to fully render and then they pop in when you’re finally just a few feet away. This takes away so much from the immersion and seems to be possibly worse rather then better.

Here’s an example of helicopters having no livery despite being very close from earlier today:

And here’s an example of being very close to ramp worker which is still a very flat and poorly detailed object; then another shot after moving even closer before the object becomes properly rendered:

This is not good, I hope to fix this with the Lod

did so few people really notice how low quality LOD is in VR 2024 compared to fs 2000??? only setting LOD to 400? the maximum value gives a slightly satisfactory result… it can’t be that they lowered the quality and everyone is happy that VR runs smoothly now - wake up people

Agree. Latest Build has great performance, but it looks like both object lod and terrain lod have been lowered…
