I’ve been stuck on 49 hours flight time for the last three days… very frustrating.
Yes. My log book has only recorded approx 4 hours flight time for all 3 bush trips which take around 24 hours, I believe.
After upgrade 2020-10-13, I still have problem with my logbook. 75% of my flights will not be registered.
I have a 100% success rate when landing at airports big enough to have a parking spot, where I shut down the engines and the game automatically saves the trip. At smaller airports and airstrips landings seem to register no more than 50% of the time, however they DO count toward the World Traveler achievement. The other day I had the AI pilot crash just before the airport because of ATC instructions to go too low, and instantly restarted (a 300 miles trip). Turns out it wouldn’t register the landing when I made it and parked where other planes were parked (still no “official” parking spots), however it turns out that the crashed flight was registered at over 300 miles and worked for the Jack Of All Planes achievement.
Edit: World traveler is not progressing at all anymore except for at star airports. This must’ve started with the last patch.
For smaller grass strips, for example, taxing off the runway, and shutting down is enough, but I think you have to communicate that to ATC. Then it gets logged. Since finding this out, I’ve not had a single flight lost. Yes, its a few extra hoops to jump through, but I usually interact with ATC anyway, as I enjoy the processes involved.
Granted, I have been in and out of devmode… and was well aware of it not logging flights in devmode (I’m ok with that). Problem is, since I installed 1.9.5, I’m seeing my total hours increase, and every flight gets logged as existing (when I’m not in devmode), but it has no hours or takeoffs or landings.
I always start cold, I removed the Marshalls from the airport I’m flying from, but I do use ATC always from start to finish and return to the correct spot I set up the flight for. I have gotten it to give me the logbook screen (once), but it still didn’t give me any takeoffs or landing or hours in the logbook. As I noted, my total hours have been increasing however in my profile screen (it does not match my logbook hours). It had been working kind of properly before 1.9.5 (it has never recorded all my takeoffs and landings during a flight, but it usually got some of them).
What you describe is exactly what I get
.
yes exactly right
have the same problem from September 16 with the first upgrade of the MSFS to 39 hours stuck and I will now have 1000 hours who will pay for them ???

Please make sure you put in a Zen ticket for this issue as well.
This is exactly what I also noticed. The logging was not working any more since the 1.9.5.0 patch and the only way to have it back is to park to the parking spot indicated by ATC and shut down the engine. Then the log popup appears, confirming your flight hours are logged. If you don’t do this, the flight is not logged.
Before the patch, it was working better, you could leave the flight at any time, even if not parked, and the flight was logged.
It was “broken” in patch three as well. I can’t remember with two, if I’m honest. But it should be easy to tell. I’ll look in Zendesk for when I reported these issues, and from that date I will know what I was running.
EDIT: I have to partly take this back. Dev Mode was on. I did the same flight again, and it was logged. This is still weird though, because in the past, some flights were still logged with Dev Mode on, and others were not, with Dev Mode off.
Original post:
Something new happened to me today.
On the world map, I filed a VFR flight from EDWY to EHAL with a Bonanza.
After landing, parking and shutting down the airplane, log book screen popped up, just as it should. However, everything in there was wrong:
All it shows is a flight from two days before - wrong route, wrong times. I hit back to main menu. The flight I just did was not logged. Since the last patch, I cannot advance my hours. What a pity.
So my advise for someone who have problem with logbook flying by A320 or A32NX:
- Landing to the airport.
- Ask ATC about taxi.
- Fallow the taxi path to the box.
- DO NOT connect to External Power when you stop!
DO NOT connect to the Jetway!
Just one simple last step - kill the engines.
Logbook will log your fly that way. After this steps you can push CONTINUE and finish your landing properly (Ex power, Jetway etc.)
I checked. In one of airport Jetway connect automatically to the A320 and game not log my 2hrs fly.
I also couple of times connect External Power before turned off engines - this not working.
I don’t know about lights in A320 but switch down engines on the first step after parking in the box - always working for me.
About different airlines - I didn’t checked.
About small planes - fallow the steps till you need to turning off engines: switching avionics off always working for me. I checked with nearly each small planes.
I hope this will working for you also. Happy flying!
Interesting.
In over 75 hrs flying, I have never had the logbook screen flash up!.
Just resigned myself to the notion that FS hrs don’t mean much anyway.
Enjoying the other aspects of this FS for what they are. Remember that this sim costs about as much as dinner out!. And much more than an evenings fun inside!. Its all relative.
I have significant health issues that mean I won’t be living my dream of getting a ‘proper’ flying licence. I have had quite a lot of time with someone else sitting beside me in full sized aircraft, so get to enjoy both sides of the story.
I hope you are keeping well!
The logbook problem is frustrating for me and other players who want to push pilot profile on the game. We flying and flying and game still not recording anything. I’m still have around 160hrs from the previous update…
Before even you have not logbook screen after - logbook record everything, even if you log to some airport and never turning any engine. Previous update and last update for some people completely kill the logbook functionality. Fruuuuustraiting.
ok thanks that’s what i need…works now…
I did 5.5 flights today (so far).
First was VFR KSAN to KLAX. That one got fully logged.
Second was IFR from KOPF to KTPA. CTD about halfway there. Nothing logged.
Rebooted the machine completely, as MSFS wouldn’t start back up.
Third was a short local VFR flight from CYSH to CYGK. Flight time was partially logged (only 10 mins of the 25 min flight). Neither take off nor landing were logged ('vicinity of in log book).
Did IFR CYGK to CYOW. Takeoff and full flight time were logged. Landing was not (vicinity of.)
Fifth flight was IFR CYOW to CYYZ. No record of the flight exists in my log book.
Next was CYOW to CYUL. Takeoff and only 15 mins of flight time recorded in my log.
Yeah, the log book is pretty much useless as it is.
Seems as though Absobo haven’t even acknowledged this issue. This thread has more votes than other issues on the list of things to be fixed.
I filed a Zendesk ticket on it today including my observations I posted here a couple of posts above.
But I suspect it will get lost in the shuffle of the tens of thousands they receive.
