Yeah… i really don’t understand what the issue is… surely, it’s just an if block that needs to be commented out.
Exactly! (sorry If I was angry before, but it just made me so mad.)
Understand the frustration. To add insult to injury, half the time the entry is incorrect anyway.
It’s rarely incorrect for me now, as I interact with ATC to progress my flight through the various stages. Rarely, it won’t detect that I have taken off from an uncontrolled airport. This is usually where it fails to detect the “taxi to runway”, then announcing takeoff transition.
How accurate is it now with all the logbook information being wiped from the cloud?
I can’t believe this issue is still TBD, how long is going to take them to fix something so simple?
The only major irritation remaining for me now is the logbook popup which appears every time I attempt an orderly realistic aircraft shutdown . This issue has been fairly well up the wishlist for some time now, but no action from ASOBO as yet.The last response from ASOBO to this was that it was not a bug as such so its not been dealt with. I beg to differ on that, but even so l join hundreds of simmers who find it annoying because it breaks their immersion in the Sim. I watched the latest Dev Q&A the other day as this issue was on the agenda. I may have missed something in the “translation” but it seemed to me this issue was again glossed over by an ASOBO representative. I wonder therefore if they intend to fix this issue at all.
Asobo, please fix this issue, its annoying
This is one of the many things that make the sim have that ‘Game’ feeling. Simmers don’t want a menu that comes up just because you shut down the engines… It could however work on the xbox version, but for pc there at least has to be an option to turn it off which I hope will come in the future.
Same here! It’s very unlike Microsoft to not allow the option to turn this annoying popup off. I don’t mind if logbook pops up when I hit escape to End but to pop up after just shutting off the Alt and Battery and magnetos doesn’t give me a simulation ‘feel’. Please, fix this soon. Thank you.
This should have been fixed months ago, it absolutely breaks the immersion.
It’s been over 8 months, and this simple fix still hasn’t been resolved…
What’s puzzling is that it ALREADY doesn’t happen at some uncontrolled airports. The logbook entry still gets populated. Just make this happen everywhere is the idea.
IMHO FS should check if all the switches are in off position and if power, rpm and mixture are set to 0 before showing that popup
It sort of kinda does that, because it pops up on battery off in some cases, but it’s not enough. Some of us would like to tie down the plane.
It’s quite simple. Just show it when the user clicks on end flight. That’s all. You don’t need to look for complicated conditions like mixture cut-off (what if it’s a glider?) or battery off (what if i don’t have a battery?). Just let the user end the flight normally, and then pop it up.
FS shouldn’t check anything. When I’m done and IF I want to log the flight, there should be a command to open the logbook and log the flight. That’s it.
Just to add my twopennyworth, I quite like the auotomated logbook system, but agree it would be better to present it when you elect to finish the flight. Or maybe don’t present it at all - if you want to look at your logbook it’s easy to find.
Additionally it would be nice if I could delete some of the non-flight entries - you know, like the ones caused by pressing continue when the logbook currently pops up…
Ha! Yeah, those are just SOME conditions that would create problems in their logic. I just think they took something and made it way more complicated than it needed to be. When I fly in P3D, I always find it a relief not worrying that some switch I press in the cockpit is gonna terminate my session. I just shut things down in proper order and when I am done and satisfied with the state of my aircraft, I simply end the session.
t is the most important breaker of immersions because it jumps in my face at the end of each flight, it breaks completely the procedures of end of flight.
Aerosoft managed to push the logbook window to the battery off. Microsoft should, at least, do the same for all planes, including third part.
If not, at least correct the problem that if you click on “Continue”, it creates a new flight from the arrived airport to the same airport.
