Logitech Flight Quadrant, Windows 11 - Looking for someone with this setup to compare notes/help

I am a recent MSFS user on PC. Have new machine with plenty of horsepower, graphics power, memory and attitude. I am flying GA, most basic, the Cessna 152. I have the Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, the Logitech Pedals and, most recently the Logitech Flight Quadrant with the 3 levers that I (want to) use for Throttle, Mixture and Flaps. The quadrant just isn’t working well. I’ve got the latest driver (from 2017 but I can’t find any indication there is a newer one). The setup/configuration seems to work OK but when in flight the Throttle is erratic, unresponsive and just plain maddening. I would like to talk to anyone else who has a similar setup (PC, W11, Basic Logi Quadrant, flying GA) hoping to figure out what I (or we) need to do differently to get this common accessory to play nice with MSFS.

I have an old version of the quadrant (from about 10 years ago) and experienced exactly the same issues. I tried everything. I even took it to bits and regreased it etc, but same issues so gave up. Admittedly I didn’t spend any money on in recently, so it didn’t bother me too much, but the annoying thing is it works fine in P3D and in the Windows game controller cpl.

Hello, I’m moved your topic to the Tech Talk subcategory for further assistance as this refers to peripherals.

Try using it without the Logitech drivers. Get rid of the drivers, plug it in and let Windows handle it. Seems to me I had a lot of trouble with the drivers when I started with these 5 or 6 years ago. I did the above and now they work fine.

I just plugged and played. Did install the driver for TCA stick but not for Logi throttle. MSFS has no issue registering it. If you are not sure how exactly the device is performing, try searching for USB controllers in Windows and check the output or calibration settings for the quadrant.

Agree. I have no issues with the throttle quadrant with the drivers Win11 installs automatically, even with a 6.5’ USB extension cord.

You guys that are having no problems, have you bought it recently (I.e. in the past few years)? I’m wondering if the issue is because I have a really old version of the hardware (FSX vintage). I’m having the same issue as the OP (just the default W11 driver) and it works fine with FSX and P3D, but in MSFS, I could have the power setting at 50% and then without input it just jumps or drops completely. I could understand if it was doing the same in the other sims.

I got the quadrant in 2022, so yes, recently. I bought my Extreme Pro joystick in 2005, and it works fine with the Win11 drivers too, so I can’t confirm any problem using an old Logitech USB switch and axis control.

Hi @AviatorCSnet

Could you help please. So I plug my quadrant back in and it worked for about 10 minutes and then stopped. I think its a driver issue. Windows 11 is detecting it as Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant (HID) and Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant (USB). The driver version is 6.0.6.5, Diver Provider Saitek.
This is default W11 pro, to logitech software or drivers installed.
Could you tell me what vendor (provider) and driver version is showing up in your device manager please?

To be sure I was looking at the throttle quadrant driver info, I used Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Flight Throttle Quadrant - Properties - Hardware - then

HID-compliant game controller - Properties - Driver: Microsoft 6/21/2006 10.0.22621.849
and
USB Input Device - Properties - Driver: Microsoft 6/21/2006 10.0.22621.849

In other words, my newish Flight Throttle Quadrant is using a built-in Microsoft driver. My old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro also uses that driver in my instance of Windows 11.

Thanks! So I got to the bottom of it… the old Saitek hardware uses a Saitek device identifier, and windows installs that by default… and it doesn’t work properly. If you have the newer Logitech branded controller, it uses the correct driver.
If like me you have the older hardware, you need to download the x64 driver here.

After a restart its no longer called Saitek in device manager and it works!

Thanks for your help… you’ve saved me buying a new throttle quadrant :+1:

Nice. That is awesome!
