Just bought this but I am finding that the knobs on the left hand side are too small and stiff. Has anyone had any success at replacing these with larger knobs? Specifically I was wondering if they just pull off. I am worried at breaking something. Thanks in advance.
I can’t answer that, but I can tell you they don’t get any less stiff over time.
I assume you refer to the multi-panel? The knob on the left is very stiff, but the one on the right is quite loose, and even has a tiny amount of jiggle to it. It was like it when I bought it, though, and hasn’t been getting worse over time.
Tks, I was referring to the Radio Panel. I also have the Multi Panel and I changed the left knob and it is much better. I have read that the Radio Panel’s left know have a locking collar on them and I was wondering if anyone has managed to get it off.
I think all the saitek selector switches are stiff compared to say one like the knobster. Mine are more than 10 years old and still work fine. I must admit tho, I did screw the panels down to hold m in place. Oh yea, the starter switch got stiff on me a few years back. had to spray a little contact cleaner on it. I like It makes it feel real solid to me. I never thought about changing the knobs to fine tune the feel. Good idea, tnx for that.
Hi. Sorry I can’t help you there. However I must say that the stiffness has its advantages since you can’t accidentally switch them. I also have the multi panel together with the radio panel fixed down on a metal plate with magnets on top of the two Saitek throttle quadrants. That keeps them in place and you can easily remove them if they are in the way.
