Long-EZ released by Indiafoxtecho

All I can say is I hope whatever lessons learned here apply to whenever he makes the M-346 Master available to MSFS. That’s really the a/c I’m looking forward to from IEF.

“to each his own” good and well but with a canopy like that you’d be the laughing stock of the whole aerodrome, expecially if you come with a Rutan airplane that’s meant to be special. It’s too much and it’s the only thing that holds me off a purchase.

It’s a texture file… give options… make it three of them.

I can’t say I disagree with you.

I really enjoy the plane, but the canopy is driving me nuts.

I emailed the developer to ask if the canopy can be cleaned up. I honestly can’t understand why anyone would want the canopy to be scratched and smudged like that.

Just an update.

I emailed Dino.

He indicated that an update in the near future would have a cleaner canopy.

Heads up!

Just bought Long-Ez in the market place. Interesting plane with “character,” is all after 30 minutes flight time

However (pilot) issue with the Honeycomb yoke.
Have been flying mostly the TBM so my start key on the
yoke was left in only one magneto, meaning that the plane flies but weeeeery slowly and odd.
Took some time to find the culprit but once on both magnetos much better.

Hello .
Is it possible to offer a version where the canopy is rather “clean”, too many fingerprints on the glass is unpleasant…

Hi, I am not associated with the developer in any way but the developer mentioned on their Facebook page that the excessive canopy scratches and finger prints is one of the top issues people have had with the aircraft, I imagine the next update will clean them up a little bit!

That’s great. Thank you for your response.

Cool little plane. I am just setting up the controls now but took it for a short flight

Has anyone tested this bird after the new patch? I know some other aircraft by third parties seems to be broken. I know Mooney is affected, so is BirdDog. I tested KitFox yesterday and no changes there.

The patch supposedly adds support for Canards, so I guess there’s some rework going on right now.

I was eager to fly the new Long-EZ model so I purchased it from the marketplace. I regret that. Iit simply won’t download. What recourse do we have for this kind of thing? I wish I had just bought it from the 3rd party maker instead.

I’ve tried removing data limiting and the rolling cache like suggested to others with similar issues but, no joy. I appreciate that the sim is new and needs time to mature. Regardless, there needs to be a refund process for situations such as this. It’s hardly a fair business process.

Go to your profile and choose content manager, see if it shows up there for download.

Also I found that if you start the sim as administrator installing stuff is tough. Make sure you just start it normal.

It has shown up in the content manager and the download icon does appear. Unfortunately, NOTHING HAPPENs when I do “click” the download icon.

It seems there must be an even more serious issue for me as now, I can’t even open the game; getting the MSFS offline dialog.

It should not be this irritating to try to have fun.

Thanks for the reply nonr-the-less.

I had a similar problem with the Mooney Ovation I bought. I ended up manually deleting it from the disk then going back to the in- game store and re-downloading it. That worked but I still have a problem with a CTD whenever I try to use the autopilot controls. So far, no workarounds or fixes for that.

You all have proved to me aftermarket is still a long shot. Part of the problem is the way we get the products, and that the SDK is not easy to make new stuff with. Those being addressed as we speak, but as mentioned time and time again, there is a long term development cycle associated with this product. Someone said, development out for 10 years. It was released too early, not enough testing, and not enough of the bugs the testers found were fixed prior to release. Finding/reporting bugs is all well and good, but the community has repeatedly asked Asobo/MS to fix the bugs before releasing more scenery and fluff. I am not sure they are listening to that request. I would love for USA update, but would love MORE, that all the planes/atc/ILS/Nav/etc. issues are fixed first. That some users have issues each patch release is not good. And my guess is the development team is spread across this planet, with input/development from a variety of locations, All that disparity has to be centralized and tested, before release. Two steps forward, and sometimes three steps back. I for one find the bugs frustrating to the point cannot spend a lot of time using it, have to prove I still got skills, so FSX for me. Also, I am at loss on how to help those folks who cannot even get it to load, reinstalling Windows/MSFS is not solution, something inside system (Windows patch, virus/antimalware, something possibly) is causing this to fail. I do not think, unless your hardware is just not at minimums, is the reason it don’t work for you. I have all the “app and browser” stuff in Windows Defender turned off. I am running the latest release of Zone Alarm Extreme Security, with no issues period, been three days. Have opened game and changed setting, or something, and closed game, Ten minutes later, another forum post, I am opening up game and seeing what that does, closing game. I might start MSFS 10-15 times daily, NO ISSUES. My internet is 16MBTS, very slow in this day and age. Live traffic and WX is enabled, it is not that for me. Routinely open up VFR map in flight, no problems. My only thing going for me IS NO, NONE, NADA, AFTERMARKET ANYTHING PERIOD TO DO WITH THIS GAME. If you have run mods from aftermarket, installed NON marketplace scenery, PUT ANYTHING NOT Asobo/MS IN THE GAME NO MATTER FROM WHAT SOURCE, my suspicion is that is the issues. That ALL users are not having issues with those, is another area of concern. FWIW-I am at loss here, wish I could fix it for you, nope, no ideas left. FWIW#2-Considering IFR Training package, has been reviewed, but I am afraid if I get it, and install it, might be in the same boat as many who cannot run game period, so very leery now.

MeridianSquid makes good points. However, nothing is ever good enough and, as I well know, better is the enemy of good enough. Despite this, I am certain I WILL buy another add-on and I know that there may well be more problems. I suppose I am an enabler to their bad business practices but…

Anyway, I did get my situation to improve. In my case, it SEEMS to have been related to Windows “Storage Service” and (I’m guessing here) the fact that I had dared to alter the installation path- despite the installer asking, and my assumption that they wouldn’t have asked if it wasn’t ok. It really doesn’t seem to be okay.

Although, another thing I can’t explain, I could not access the function to enable storage services easily. It simply did not work as it should have and all my forum surfing gave me nada Persistence, trial, and error finally allowed that to happen. I then uninstalled and reinstalled FS. It seems to be working; at least until the next thing.

Try this mod that has a clean canpoy Long-EZ Carbon Interior Mod (livery included) at Microsoft Flight Simulator Nexus - Mods and community

Dino has said on FB that the next version has a cleaner canopy btw, they are still testing it due to recent bugs in the update though.

So…where are the updates? And will the MB.339 be available in the Marketplace?

Well, as promised we are indeed working on updates for both aircraft - but we want to make sure they are done right. Here is where we are:

LONG-EZ
We now have a satisfactory flight model in place, but the autopilot function need more work. We hope the update will be ready in a week or so.

MB-339
The update will bring a number of small improvements and fixes…we expect it to be ready around mid-Novemeber. We have decided not to release version 1.00 to Microsoft due to their long lead times, so we will release directly version 1.10 for them to deploy.

MSFS BUGS…

Aside, Microsoft has identified and has a plan to solve both the livery and switches bugs that plagued 1.10.7. 1 and 1.10.8. 1.

As for the livery bug, there is a workaround for it (which is to assign a specific model entry for each livery in the aircraft.cfg) works…it is not optimal for memory usage, but it works.

As for the switches bug (which is affecting a small number of switches on the 339) there is currently no workaround.

Both are expected to be solved in the next simulator updates.

AS FOR THE UPDATES…

Some people asked how updates on external markets are deployed… the answer is “it depends”.
In the case of .zip files (that is SimMarket and Flightsim Store), you will receive an email when the update is released. Then you will need to manually replace the package.
As for Orbx, you will receive an email and then the product will be updated through Orbx Central.

As usual we’ll keep you posted with the progress.

I’m pretty sure I will buy this if/when the autopilot function is installed. Don’t care about a full glass cockpit, but some navigation systems would be nice.

I was just wondering how fast this plane is, I know it depends on altitude, throttle settings etc, but is more comparable to a Cessna 172 or Bonanza? it looks as fast as a laser beam, but I know looks can be deceiving.
