I’ll just make this simple, wing rocking after 37,000ft still an issue…
Last night, my Longitude was rolling side-to-side quite a bit at FL440, I then did a series of step-down descents (FL399, FL385, FL320, FL295, FL280, FL270, FL260, FL250, FL200). I did not use VS (vertical speed). I used Flight Level Control exclusively.
The rolling progressively got better the lower we got. It wasn’t until about around FL260 that it was not too bad (from a pilot’s perspective). However, I sent the camera into the main cabin and you could sense it much more in there than in the flight deck. My passengers would have been vomiting. LOL!
I also viewed from the fixed camera at the tip of the wing and it was more evident. At FL200 is was perfectly smooth.
It actually doesn’t start to be a problem until after 36,000ft. Once it starts it doesn’t stop until you get lower in altitude. There must have been some fixes in this patch to the sim’s FDE because the flight model in general seems to have improved with this bird. Landings are allot better as it doesn’t float as much on flare and the sensitivity of the joystick settings has improved (noticed I had to readjust them after the patch install). No matter what I did before small adjustments used to over control the birds (all aircraft in the sim). This was a problem on crosswind landings where a quick adjustment is needed after the wheels touched the runway. That’s all but gone now. With proper adjustment to sensitivity you can correct on a landing without dang near rolling the aircraft over. Yes, there’s diffidently improvements in the right direction. CTD issues are all but gone in most cases. If they get the wing rock figured out we are well on our way. This patch was the first that didn’t introduce any new hang-ups, great job Asobo!
I find that if I set my cruise to about FL340, I’m good with the Longitude. It won’t oscillate at all. From FL340-360, it tends to depend on the wind strength and direction. Above FL360, you’re riding the vomit comet. I wouldn’t want to be in a plane moving like that.
Are there any community mods improving the Longitude?
The Premium Deluxe planes are DLC locked. They can’t be modded like the others can.
Thanks…
In the wishlist, A32nx is near the top, I guess there should be another entry to somehow allow mods to the premium planes… The 787 is a good example.
I doubt they’ll ever agree though.
WorkingTitle said they’ll be working on mods to get this bird sorted out.
I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that unlike the standard edition planes wich are open and can be tweaked and adjusted to a modder’s content, the PD planes were locked down and only very minute changes are even possible.
Parts of it may be moddable. Like the WT G3000 Enhancement works like a charm with the Longitude. It’s hard to go back to the stock Garmin units once you’ve used the WT mods. But not sure how much can be done to it by 3rd parties.
The word I heard from them (WorkingTitle) is the Longitude will get the same treatment as the CJ4. This is not to say Asobo shouldn’t finish this bird by giving us a hud and a cabin but WT is taking on getting this bird operating as it should.
Well if they can indeed mod it, that’s great news. I await it with anticipation.
Try this…

It’s a work in progress.
Can’t do the version that has you modifying main sim files. Some people have lost the Longitude all together. If it can’t work in the Community folder it’s a no go for me.
Same for me. If it doesn’t go in the Community folder, I won’t touch it. Too many potential problems can come of that.
This has been resolved with 'Update 7"!
Some say it has, but there have been reports that it’s worse than before.
I just got home from work and I’m downloading. I’ll be trying it out in a bit.
Well I tried the mod and it failed on me. I was just using the Community folder too. Thing is I forgot to copy the default layout.json file before I overwrote it with the mod layout.json file. I copied and saved my default Longitude AC files and have overwritten them back to the Community file but that bugger layout.json file is the only thing keeping me from getting my Longitude back. Does anyone know how I might obtain a copy of the default layout.json file for the Longitude. Thanks in advance.
I would try to delete the longitude from the “Microsoft Flight Simulator/Official/One Store” folder and redownload it from the content manager in the game
And I’m not sure, what you did there. The mod only works if you replace the layout.json file in the “Flight Simulator/Official/One Store” folder. So if you say you were just using the community folder you did it wrong and it shouldn’t work.
What do you mean by “default Longitude AC files”? And what is “the Community file”?
Also if you didn’t change anything in the OneStore folder, you can just delete anything related in the Community folder and it should be fine.
Thanks for the response. This is probably going to be clear as mud but when I say I used my Community folder I mean it is into this folder that I loaded the unzipped aircraft-longitudefdefix folder per the author’s instructions. The thing is I have a FS2020 dedicated folder that contains folders: Community, Official, and Temp., all within a folder called FS2020. It is this Community folder into which I drop all of my modded files such as terrain, airports, etc. (so far with 100% success). The author referred to a folder directory path “\LocalCache\Packages\Community”, but again my Community folder is a stand-alone in my FS2020 folder on my dedicated drive. Also, per the author’s instructions, I DID overwrite my original default layout.json file with the author’s unzipped layout.json file. Obviously I miscued somewhere but I have not a clue. Hope this helps you figure out where I went wrong. I sure would like to get my Longitude back. Thanks in advance for the help.
It sounds like you extracted to the Community folder, then copied from there into the Official folder? If that’s the case, deleting the Longitude files from your Community folder may get it working as the mod writer intended, but having not tried it myself…
If you just want the default back, the easiest way is to just delete the Longitude files from both your Official and Community folders, then redownload the plane through the MSFS2020 Content Manager in-game. That’ll get you the original layout.json back, in the Official folder.
