Honestly, I don’t think it will ever become functional. The default aircraft isn’t really aiming to be feature-complete. So for HUDs, it’s probably best to wait for 3rd party aircraft. There is already a HUD in Boeing though, makes me wonder why they didn’t implement it in Longitude.
