It usually starts with Microsoft Server problems but sayin there is no internet connection. But i can load homepages at internet parallel. read mails and perform speed tests. Guess its a 100% Microsoft server problem.
But then the sound changed to such a disgusting computer generated sound (artificial and not human at all) with an accent that i like to start vomiting instantly. Until now only stopping the simualtion and starting again helps. But this is not a workaround but a certificate of inadequacy. I am urgently looking for a fast and working work around.
Actually i suffer from this problem again and maybe you can read between the lines it makes me meanwhile aggressive!
It says online services are unreachable but i use the internet, my wife watches vids at the computer next to me, my nephew studies online and i write a message here right now. I mean why are they lying? Why dont they say "Hey guy sorry but our servers are inadequate? This is what makes me really angry!
I use Offline ATC. Less choice of voices but 100 percent always available. And thanks to very enterprising and knowledgeable peers, I can even customize for FAA phraseology and actually make it sound like the real deal.
How? How? ![]()
Really? I never thought about that. After restarting the simulation again it works out again. Maybe i have to think about offline option too.
Switch ATC from Azure Online Text to Speech to Offline in the Sound Menu.
I tried that too but then i got no sound at all. Guess i need a speech package in addition too. Where resp. how do i get it?
It will use the LOCPAK file that’s local to your Windows PC based on Localization (I.e., if your Windows PC is set to UK English, it will use that file). If you’re not hearing it, you may have Audio issues specific to your PC, not the sim.
If i choose ATC off instead of Azure i have no sound from ATC. If i have an Audio issue why do i hear sounds using Azure? I mean then i should have no sound at both settings, right?
Agreed - you should hear sounds. I’m not sure what to tell you - Offline works directly off a file on your PC, it doesn’t require anything else other than a working Audio system on the PC. I’ve been using it since August 2020. Nothing complex about it.
I haven’t tested this but a lot of people use an HDMI pass through and have their onboard sound disabled.
I use a headset. If i disable my onboard sound will my headset still get sound signal via HDMI? I use this headset for everything according to my computer.
But i dont understand how this will affect the problem with the Azure sound? To me it seems the Microsoft server has problems and cut off the connection. I would like to connect again since my internet is ok. So i guess the work around will be about that.
Or disabling Azure as proposed and then server problems arent problems any longer to me.
I have onboard disabled in bios and still get HDMI audio. However with Windows, even setting HDMI as default I find that some programs e.g. OBS lose the setting after a PC restart.
I think maybe HDMI just doesn’t have the persistant hooks required by some programs and I don’t think it will help your situation.
Azure sound is like any other Cloud service - if it gets too heavily loaded, it starts to lag in response. That’s why whatever I can do to off-load that function onto the local PC, I do.
The other day I used my laptop for msfs instead of my pc. I was immediately surprised with a variety of voices even though I have the same settings on both pc and laptop. Azure enabled, any idea why my pc doesn’t seem to have any different voices? It’s too often to be a server issue
My guess is coincidence.
I’ve had occasional voice variety and a new sounding voice. But then it all just goes back to the same guy on all frequencies and airplanes.
It’s probably just configurations in the services.
The problem is that the sound resp. the accent changed. My sound sounds so horrible cause of the accent. You cant bear it.
Are you still offline?
Check your data settings under settings. Somewhere in SU10 or SU11 it started staying permanently offline depending on the button you click on that terrible menu that pops up when the connection is lost.
That’s the same menu that blocks flight controls.
This problem always occours after some time if it occours. 30 Minutes or an hour everything is ok and then they say that connection was lost due to internet. But as i already told. My wife watches videos, my nephew was online too and when i immediately test my internet i got 50MBit, ping 18ms and can load every webpage i want. So i guess its the ms server. That would be ok if they repair the atc sound as soon as their server is ok again. But i always have to start the simulator again.
But i can look into it when i fly again although i already checked it some days before.
It’s been a widespread issue the past couple weeks. Hopefully it will settle down.
The local ATC voices are a bit painful! Just make sure to check your data settings to make sure you aren’t set to offline.
