Having removed the throttle control, I have been using a HOTAS controller for throttle on the desktop in my man cave. But I would like to remove this need by putting a simple throttle control on my creation. I have searched for some kind of simple USB throttle potentiometer solution that I can attach to the floor mounted stick, with no luck. Yes, I could build something with an Arduino board, but I prefer not to. I’d like to go KISS with just adding a USB rotating throttle like lever on the stick.
Does anybody know of such a thing that can be purchased cheaply for plug-n-play?
Why? I have installed an Xbox Series X for my 65" 4K TV in my living room, and I’d like the floor mounted stick to be the only thing out there. No table needed. No HOTAS needed. Just a chair and the floor mounted stick!
I love projects like this. I built my own “knobster” to work with MSFS on my Xbox with an Arduino mini and a dual encoder. But since you don’t want to go that route, and I completely understand, I’m trying to think of something that would work right out of the box.
I keep coming back the the idea of the scroll wheel on a wireless mouse. Perhaps you could pull that out and mount it somehow to your stick. A mouse will be recognized and work natively with an Xbox.
The trick will be to map it successfully as the throttle axis. But the beauty of it is, if you already have a mouse lying around you can try that first and see if it will work before you start modifying it to attach to your stick.
You can use either spad.next or vjoy+ joystick gremlin to get the mouse wheel to be configured as an axis in msfs24. On pc anyway, not sure about Xbox.

Unfortunately, unless that appears to the Xbox as a standard Xbox controller, I don’t think it will work. And I doubt that it will. Other than a keyboard or a mouse, any other peripheral must be licensed for use by Xbox or it will not be usable.
As the previous poster stated, you could make it work on a PC with vJoy and Joystick Gremlin or some other controller mapping utility. But those aren’t available on Xbox either.
Sorry just trying to help. Maybe send an email to the company and ask if they have a X-Box compatible version or if they can make one. I am sure there are lots of people who might need this.
Thanks to everybody for their suggestions. I finally broke down a got a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas One Flight Stick & Throttle and am using it on a small table. My home-made stick and my Thrustmaster T16000M HOTAS would not work as they are not compliant with Xbox USB restrictions. It has to be an MS licensed product. I know about the Brook Wingman XB 3 Converter but it only supports one input at a time.
