LOSS: The Lexicon Of Sim Stutters

Do’h! I even knew that. Must need more coffee

Changed to this:

Thanks mate!

What about “external cam rotating hitch”? - ECRH?

I’d rather stick to TLA’s  (three (3) letter abbreviations). Any other ideas? It’s pretty hard! Some of those took me ages to come up with that also have a good “not this” meaning

There is more work in this than it seems at first sight lol

Think globally, so in this case three letters just aren’t enough

I’m aware of that, which is why I’m offering suggestions to help you out. I was born to help others

Maybe just CRH: Camera Rotating Hitch (= not Combat Rescue Helicopter)

But I want Sun to be part of it, as that is the main thing “special” about this one

Yes, it is very important because, in this case, the position of the sun is one of the causes of stuttering.

SBS. Sun Behind Stutter. Not a TV channel nor part of the navy.

Good one - thanks mate! Updated.

MSFS has so many different words for Stutter, just like the Eskimos have so many different words for “Snow”,
:smirk:

Canada’s Nunavik region has at least 53, including matsaaruti, for wet snow that can be used to ice a sleigh’s runners, and pukak, for crystalline powder snow that looks like salt. Within these dialects, the vocabulary associated with sea ice is even richer.

I shall test if playing the album “50 Words for Snow” by Kate Bush while flying reduces stutters in any way. :headphones:

My thumbs up for this lexicon @Baracus250

( I wish my understanding of english was better to reply, in more technical approach of speech
but i try)

Also i see possibility for expanding this to even more universal contribute to the sim
While short video can show the difference in stutters and a what to do with settings (populair or not measured) to avoid any kind of stutter lags or freezes.

As i think some are induced by angle of view for example horizontal line.

Or when view outside the airplane when close to ground seeming to take the speed and get disrupt by houses (scenery) while reduce of pre caching terrain set onto low give more smoothness.

And so on as i think each has its own explain were it comes from and where they relay to

I think there is still a very common stutter that has not been added to the list. I’ll call it Stutter Derangement Syndrome (SDS).

This stutter pertains to after you’ve spent months fine tuning/tweaking every parameter within the sim AND Windows to FINALLY get the sim smooth as silky butter only to find the next day the sim is a STUTTERING MESS! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

We’ve all been there! :+1:

Oh, and another important stutter: “Slide Show Stutter”. This is 2 or more of the above stutters in combination that will rival the best Netflix binge series!

An obvious acronym would be SSS but that one is already taken…

CND? Changed Next Day.

ESC? Epic Stutter Combo.

I vote for the second one - ESC. Not a keystroke that ends your flight (although it might end your flight indeed)

Epic Slide Stutter (ESS)

Or

Combo Slide Stutter (CSS)

They were 2 separate ones (see WingWarper’s previous post about the SDS  It was just another idea for that one).

Got another one… Sim Update Stutter (SUS). This is the random stutters you get immediately after a sim update that mysteriously goes away on your next flight.

Love it! Sus(pect)
