Low animation frame rates in VR?

When in VR, I notice that certain animated processes in the sim are at a lower rate than they are in regular 2D mode. For example, windmills, airplane marshaller (the guys with the wands) and throttles all move in a choppy way. Throttles actually move somewhat choppily even in 2D, but I think it is worse in VR.

To be clear, I do not think this is a raw performance issue. My framerates are acceptable in general, but these specific animations appear to be at a lower rate than the rest of the sim (things like flight control movements are smoother).

Is this just a part of the VR process? Or might there be some setting out there to change? I’ve struggled to find anything out there on this, but I may not be describing it well.

Thanks!

Could it be just the way animations are usually managed, aka time based? E.g. let’s say the guy have a 5 seconds movement to raise is arm. If you have 60fps you’ll see 60x5 steps to raise it arm, so smooth. If you only have 10 fps you’ll see only 10*5 steps for the same 5 seconds animations, which will appear more “choppy”, less steps but biggest dispatched during the 5 seconds.

I get this too with some external objects like some animals, people or wind turbines. It appears to be far far slower than the frame rate of the sim… sometimes the animation looks to be more like 5fps or even less while I’m running at 30.

Doesn’t always happen though which is the odd part.
