Same here. Fresh install made yesterday without issue. Almost 1Gb internet speed…

I’m not sure I want to do that just yet. However, I tried all the different servers today and got the same result on each one. I’ve also been using the MSFS 2020 Map Enhancement and I know it had some problems in the past , but mine’s been working perfectly for months and many updates, so I don’t think it’s the issue. But other than that , I don’t have a clue what all of a sudden might be causing the problem. I know there is a major update coming on Nov. 11, so maybe I’ll get lucky and that will solve the problem. However, if any of you know any other issues that may be causing the problem, let me know what you found out.
and thats about what we mention: how Probably is that, that you get same problem to servers all over the world ? only if there is another factor which limits, and so we are back by ISP and edge servers.
simple try it out… stop the app, remove your hosts file, restart, test… with that thing installed, we can never be sure.
I got a new one today on beta 11 it said something to the effect of : You bandwidth is to low for PG, would you like to disconnect PG, or Ignore this warning.
I ignored and still had PG and a decent FPS ;p go figure?
sounds like an improvment ![]()
I’ll give your suggestion a try. Where are the hosts files located?
Window’s hosts file is located here:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
For the folks that have NEVER used “that” mod, start with a cache clearing.
- clear the scenery cache
- exit and restart MSFS
- confirm cache is turned on and set to 16gb.
If you are not using a scenery cache, turn it on and set it to 16gb.
If you are still getting the error. Confirm all connections between the computer and the ISP WAN connection. Sometimes even plugging into a different port on the router reveals a difference.
This is NOT about measuring your speeds or whether YouTube videos play without stuttering. This is about confirming you don’t have excessive noise between the outside world and your computer.
This may not “solve” the issue but it will hopefully eliminate the chance that you are pulling your hair because the cat chewed your cat5.
You nailed it, that appeared to be the problem. Once I deleted the two files, everything was back to normal. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks for the info. I was running this mod, but I didn’t have the scenery cache on so I didn’t have any stored data. As I said back to TheSevenflyer, I removed the two files that the mod puts in the host folder and everything worked fine. I still don’t understand why MSFS suddenly stopped working as I had been using the mod all along with no problems. Just a hiccup I guess, but TheSevenflyer helped me get it straightened out so everything is working again. I agree with your cable suggestion, but I don’t have a cat so I’ll have to keep an eye on my wife who thinks I spend way too much time fooling around with MSFS. You never know what lurks in the hearts and minds of men (or women), and I’m not the Shadow.
That was SPOOKY!
Back in the 70’s my CB handle was Shadow.
“The Shadow knows”, was my signoff.
Glad you got it sorted.
Guess that pretty well gives away our age! Have a good one and thanks.
I meant to ask you, are you using that other mod?
Navigraph is the only add or mod I have installed since day one. Quite honestly, the majority of issues I have seen on this forum have boiled down to some sort of modification, either to the sim or the system it runs on. Obviously, not all but the VAST majority. When a problem arises the first step should be to baseline the system and the sim.
I have mine on a ramdisk however IMO 16GB is overkill (unless you have 64GB ram), 8GB seems to be plenty of my 32GB CL14@3333MHz. Any less than 8 and you have to reset it in MSFS every time you restart your PC. Unlike a normal RC it is self cleaning at every system start which I like and it saves wear on my precious NVMe drive.
yep, as I’ve expected …
We need a forums banner with a big warning about that maps-replacment mod ( and how simple solution is )… The in meanwhile millionst repeated post about “do that if you have/or had maps-replace… installed” is seemingly not enought ![]()
friday is going to be a pain
only if you have also the google-maps-replacement mod installed ![]()
Never touched it
then, no need to be scared , except your ISP limit somewhat ![]()
