Low bandwidth Message - Connection Lost - Switched Offline

Haven’t flown 2020 today, been busy reading everything here and I didn’t even buy 2024. Sad to say that what you may be experiencing is the visualization of the end of 2020.

Assuming 2020 and 2024 are sharing server resources (and to be fair I don’t know if they are) what would be a simple and quick way to lighten the load for 2024 streaming?

While I am not naive enough to think that 2020 will live forever in server land, I think the end could come sooner than even MicroSobo envisioned.

Can’t even zoom into world map anymore - won’t load any textures. Not to mention loading into a flight.
I hope you didn’t give up on 2020. It isn’t a pleasure right now.

Easy guys, we might be in for an 11GB update, according to Steam Database

I’m talking 2020, not 2024.

its affecting both sims, the server issues right now.

I doubt that. The problem is the heavy server load, which affects 2020. A software update for 2024 won’t fix this. At least not, until they get more things stored on your harddrive for 2024 / less streaming data.
IMHO they overshooted. Too much data to stream for 2024, without providing the according infrastructure. Or the infrastructure not being available yet. Cause it 's not only about the MS/Azure Servers themselves, it’s also about the routing to your Provider/PC (peering, etc.)

At least all the planes should be stored locally by default. That might help a bit.

MSFS2020.

Many “Connection Lost - Switched offline” messages.

This is the first time I am seeing this many number of messages in a very short time period. I had MSFS 2020 installed and using since the beginning.

Yesterday (26.Nov.2024) it was superb.

Location: Sri Lanka. Fibre connection (200MB) to the home.

MSFS2020 UK 300Mb download speed. I won’t say “many” but certainly several times a session whereas before MSFS2024 it only happened very rarely indeed.

Perhaps it’s about time MS/Asobo came clean about server usage and capacity?

Another weekend starts and once again online connection for MS2020 is unstable. Please get one simulator to work correctly before you launch another one!

I’m probably a lucky minority as I haven’t had any low bandwidth messages this week. The sim has been pretty try stable overall, with a single CTD when I pressed the livery button during flight setup.

I don’t think I have ever had a low bandwidth message. In my 3 years playing FS20. I do remeber a couple of lost connections.

To scope that most of my flying was done with the 40mbit connection that peaked at just 35mbit actual. I now run on a 75mbit full-fiber connection (not actually sure what I get out I’d guess pretty much 75mbit).

I also have had few (probably < 5) CTDs.
