Low frames at arrival airport

UPDATE:
Well , did yet another flight, still with the same sim session. Now the rolling cache is enabled, same addons. vPilot running but not connected - did unattended flight… though I don’t think it’s factor as I had nearly zero traffic on my previous flight.
Anyways, bottom line - successfully reproduced! . When taking off and still in the beginning of the flight , very smooth 40-45 FPS.
Now approaching destination, here is the slideshowfest…

While in developer, I peeked in the console and saw some errors, but the real weird is that it also loads Hungary VFR scenery which is WAY too far to be relevant… something to look further…
Now again, zillion time requested, if we could have a proper logs or debug mode… :man_shrugging:

Looks like we back to the long haul bug again, with Mainpulators and CoherentGTUIThread spiking up. Not sure what’s the relation between both but they gradually increase.
This was another test, STOCK sim - no addons. LIVE weather, no AI traffic.

Back to MAIN MENU and reload flight from the destination airport.

Flying around near the the airport, to ensure it’s not suddenly dipping, still no prob:

Would be great if someone can try to reproduce with stock SIM, TBM flight from ENBR to ENBO.

EDIT - another attempt on a completely different system.

Running another test on a different machine, a laptop with external GPU, SAME settings as before.

I never got that problem before SU12. Some of my friends dont have this problem. Must be somthing with that hardware?

I get this problem randomly. Some flights are perfect. At other times I really suffer.

I have experienced this problem on two different (one AMD, one Intel) computers.

I’m almost certain it’s server related. Lately the biggest problem is very blurry (FSX) style textures at the end of the flight.

You have not disclosed your graphical settings, but they are certainly the determining factor. This FPS difference is neither tragic nor extraordinary. It’s more important that there are no jaggies than what the FPS is. It is worth setting the system so that you always have 30 FPS. I recommend a DLSS DLA combination, 1920*1080 resolution and a fixed 30 FPS with Vsync set.

I am getting similar issue on Xbox for most flights. It presents a little different in that the whole sim rate slows down, it’s still smooth but, for example I might set a climb rate of 2000 FPM but in a real time 2 mins I only get 1800. And sure enough when I measure the UTC clock against real time it’s running 20% too slow.

Everything is ok when I take off, hour later on arrival running slow. It’s noticeably slower on approach and landing takes forever.

Although I have experienced slow time in departure also but not always.

I am sure this was not happening prior to SU12. Sorry I have not provided a more technical response I am a more casual user on XBOX but my Brian is not lying to me !!

The issue is that my system (5800x3D 4090 running VR) gives me more than enough performance with no stuttering …at the beginning of a flight.

As the flight progresses the FPS goes from 50ish down to 15. Reload a the same airport you arrived at with 15fps and you are suddenly back at 50fps.

Also now, newly, experiencing this issue. Have never had it before until 3 to 4 weeks ago. What changed? I have no idea…

Just a quick experiment for those affected. I’d be curious to hear the results.

I also have this problem. Before landing, FPS dropped sharply. I feel that this problem will not be solved before 2024, and even 2024 cannot be solved.
