Low Frames When Landing at Custom Airports

Has anyone else noted that frame rates are really low when landing at custom airports but not low when spawning at custom airports? I flew from CYYZ to KJFK on a mix of high and ultra settings. I had frame rates between 24-30 FPS at KJFK in the cockpit when arriving at the gate. Frames outside were around 24 FPS from certain viewing angles.

I had a feeling that this was pretty low for my PC so I spawned at KJFK instead and had MINIMUM frames of 40 FPS in the cockpit and pretty much constant 60 FPS outside. Nothing changed except I started my flight at KJFK instead of landing there.

Dev mode said that I was GPU limited at 33.3 ms frame times… Is this a graphics memory leak or something?

Relevant PC information is below.

i7 10700k all core OC @ 5.1 GHz average with the first two cores at 5.2 GHz.
RTX 2080 Super OC Edition @ 1960 MHz core clock, 8200 MHz memory clock

I think it’s got more to do with that if you’re loading into an airport, almost all of the scenery gets loaded in while you’re waiting for the blue bar (take a look at your bandwidth use during the loading screen).

If you’re flying into the airport, the scenery has to be downloaded and processed on the fly, which takes system resources.

I had the same thing flying into KATL. Flying in was choppy. Loading in afterwards in a little Cessna, I noticed the blue bar took longer than normal (and network was using around 50Mbits), but FPS was great once I loaded in.

I see the same thing when starting in EDDF with 30+ FPS, flying arround for some munites an landing at the same airport, rolling to the gate with 17 FPS (PC same SPECs). But when I start CPU-Z to look whats going on FPS flip back to 30+. So for me it´s a grafic problem.
