Low Latency Mode

Hey! So I’ve really been trying to nail my graphics and I’ve seen videos that people have and one of the settings they have is Low Latency in the sim and the NVIDA Control Center. I have mine in the Sim to On+Boost because I’ve heard it’s better and can give you more frames, and last night I changed that same setting to Ultra in the control center. But I’ve also seen it decreases performance frame wise. If anybody knows which is better would be great! Trying to up those frames

Hi, as far as I know, you should use boost+ in sim instead of in the control panel, this is from Nvidia’s own recommendations from what I have read before in Nvidia forums.

Ah I see! Appreciate the reply! What do you personally do?

I use in sim boost+ and leave off in the Nvidia control panel. The only changes I make there are texture quality high quality, power prefer maximum performance and anisotropic filtering at 16x with it turned off in sim. I also set virtualization off and vt-d off in bios, that really helps a lot. I also use ReBar on my RTX 3060 12Gb.

Other than that I use game mode ON, HAGS ON, and use DX12 mode. Things are super smooth at 4k resolution while using NVidia Image Scaling down to 1440p and DLSS at auto mode in the sim.

Depends on your setup/hardware.

I believe that the setting in NVCP, if set to ULTRA will enable low latency mode, but also CAP your frames to something like 5% below your monitors maximum refresh rate. If you have a 60Hz monitor, or have already set your refresh rate low (30Hz for example), and are THEN choosing ULTRA low latency in NVCP, you may be seeing less FPS as a result.

If you have a high refresh rate monitor, like 144 or above, then I very much doubt you’ll see any difference from the frame rate cap applied by ultra low latency mode.

From what I gather, you can set it to ON though and it shouldn’t have any negative impact.

Ah yea, makes sense I’m just trying to find a good middle. Appreciate it

Yeah after I tested a bit more I just have it set to on, and it doesn’t really do anything to my FPS, so I think I’m good on that front, thank you

I’m still very confused about which NCP settings to use with FS2020 , but this has only been since the release of the game. =P

No seriosly: What is suggested in 2024 with a RTX 3060 Ti and 5600X + 3600 32Gb ram?

Right now my settings are:

In GPU/Afterburner (+150 // +800 mem)

NCP: Gsync Compat ON, Vsync ON, Ansiotropic 16X (clamped ON, ansiotropic sample OFF), Fps capped to 140 fps What else to change?

In sim: Vsync OFF, Reflex OFF (GIves stutters), Mostly HIgh settings (ultra for landscape, top two options). Some visual effects like sunrays etc OFF.
Running natively in 2K (2560 x 1440). Gsync Compat 144 hz screen.
