Low level of detail the past couple sessions, not sure why, maybe OpenXR toolkit worldscale?

The past week I’ve been experimenting with various OpenXR toolkit options. I’ve been using the add on for a few months now but hadn’t really played around with it.

I have a 10850k, 32 Gb ram, 3090 setup and have found the best results with FSR set at 50 percent sharpening, and the renderscale ay 85 in the toolkit, and 100 in sim, and opxr developer tool.
I’ve also increased my world scale to 110, which looks much better.

However, flying today everything looks a little off, like my view distance is noticeably cutting off midway into the horizon. In the sim my terrain LOD is 150 and objects at 100. Buildings, trees and bushes set to high.

When landing at Exeter airport I noticed the runway textures did’nt show up until I was almost over them, which is definitely new, and not in a good way.

I’m not sure what’s causing it though. My guesses are

1)SU9 bug?
2) WindowsOpenXR toolkit world scale. Maybe making the world a bit bigger makes distant objects more noticeable and blurry textures not loaded in a more visible?
3) Problem with FSR? I was using NIS until a couple days ago.
4) Internet bandwidth? I have very fast fiber but it has dropped signal a few times since I had so maybe this was a cause, but everything always became clear as I flew over it so the internet was still working.
5) My imagination. Maybe I’m over tired and hallaucination problems that aren’t there?

It would be great to know if any one else has experience of this. Tomorrow I’ll try in 2D and see if the problem persists.

Just taken a screenshot in 2D mode, didn’t load into VR. The terrible draw distance is still present.

I’m sure it hasn’t always been this bad…

This is with terrain LOD 200, objects LOD 200 and 100 render scale at 4K.

If you zoom in on this picture you can really see how bad it us. Follow the road and it just ends a couple miles up the road.

This is Wellington, New Zealand at 400 LOD.

There is actually a town/city across that sea and completely invisible from here. I’m sure it hasn’t always been like this?
