M.2 drive failed while playing MSFS

Yeah, I have no clue why the computer stopped and didn’t want to boot and needed to be repaired. But, overheating SSD is certainly a plausible solution.

I know the SSD in the adapter has a heat sink, I think my other one came with one, too, I’ll have to open up and look, but, that’s a good idea to add one if it doesn’t. It is right in front of a fan, so it’s got airflow. But I think it’s also underneath my video card, sort of, at least next to it, on the opposite side of it’s heat sink.

I do know it’s pressed up against the motherboard, so, it’s got that direct conduction surface.

On the other hand, I’ve been flying in MSFS since last August, and FSX and X-Plane since I put the computer together, and I can count the number of CTD’s I’ve experienced in MSFS on one hand. Some were related to a bug in LivingWorld.cfg, and me just testing until I figure out exactly what was causing the issue. And then two right after I installed one of the November updates, and none since. And those were just plain CTD’s, not an issue with the computer.
