Brief description of the issue:

I have a 32" 2K main monitor and for my secondary I use a 27" 1080p. Both connected to the GPU. For a few years this has worked well, but recently when I click on the secondary and open any window or click on any application my main monitor goes black for 2-3 seconds without fail. I have tried all the obvious - DDU drivers reinstall, empty community folder, etc.

The main monitor is 144hz and the secondary is 60hz. I lock my frames to 30fps in game. Today I again pulled the HDMI for the secondary monitor and installed a new one. I’ve switched this cable 3 times. Hard to believe 2 cables were bad. DP to the 2K is also new. With the new HDMI the issue has been resolved for now and hope it stays that way. Thanks

A while ago I went through all my cables, I owned quite a few outdated HDMI 1 and 1.1’s and then because of distance I purchased some “good cables” and there seems to be a difference.

I’m not saying go out and buy overpriced Monster Cables but there are similar options at reasonable pricing, personally I like Cable Matters through the jungle website.

Change the refresh rate on your monitor.
Set the refresh rate to 60Hz.

Also in wondows settings turn off dynamic refresh rate (windows 11).

Mot having issues as of yest changing my cable, but I do agree I should match the refresh rate. I don’t push my card very hard anyway. Thanks
