Did you use the latest build .15?
More important is, that mainthread recovers, if load is taken off.
I.e. in the air, (mid flight), traffic off, lower LOD etc. If it doesnt recover and stays high loaded then there is an issue.
Because for landing more load will be put on top because of demanding airports.
Yes, I am on .15.
My post was flagged? How to report problems? It is serious problem when I cant handle the sim with 7800x3d after another update and after months of release. Vram bag and now we have CPU bug…
Thank you for the bug report.
We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.
Great to see, it get’s some attention. Thats a huge issue.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for this. We all have a common goal: to help you identify, map, and solve the problem in the best possible way. It means a lot to us to feel heard on something so important.
What happened to me today was, that I landed at EDDH, as usual with degraded performance in opposite to departure.
But interestingly I hit ESC to paused the Sim during taxi as I had to other things and came back after about 25 minutes.
Resumed the flight and I had perfect performance like it was at departure
So I find out that new curve LOD might be a problem and you can switch off this function using developer mod and in debug settings you can unmarked a new lod system. Now mainthread sim to looks much better for me but I did only quick test
New Curve LOD is a problem for sure in my case when I switch of and did quick flight there was no issue with mainthread. Very smooth with full recovery. I used fenix with BATC with livery from FS traffic and have a great performance with 60-90 fps on Drzewiecki. Before it was horrible sitter and fps drops below 50 and didn’t recover even on high altitudes
Nice catch, ![]()
I will try later.
I already switched the new LOD to “off” midflight but mainthread did not recover. I guess once activated and mainthread timings getting higher it doesnt do anything to the mainthread if new LOD curve gets deactivated.
So there is a complete sim restart required.
But maybe, if it gets deactivated directly after loading a flight, it may not load up the mainthread.
Will try later.
The New LOD Curve will be switched back on when restarting the sim. So the first thing to do after restarting the sim is to switch it off, then start the flight.
But what is really bad that new LOD system should be better optimized and I this case it just broke the sim. After several test FPS whitout new lod is better but not so good as before SU3. I hope MS will quickly rebuild this system to give as real good benefits and prerformance boost
FWIW I get the same (or similar) symptoms by simply leaving the sim running with my aircraft parked cold&dark on the same spot for an extended period of time (60+ minutes). This is with real time weather and online traffic.
It needs to be bug logged and need to be address issue first sim is unplayable now. So low performance that K have never seen before with my decent spec it should be pure performance
Yeeah I also tried SU3 b.17 today and performance was horrendous!!! I’m back to SU2. I really hope they don’t release SU3 next week without fixing this sh…!
Main issue is “mainthread” and “Rdr thread”.
Yeah before it vas vram so I switch from 4070 to 5070 couple of weeks ago and sim runs butter smooth now I’m stuck with maintthread again problem… unbelievable… I what can I do when I already have 7800x3d…
If 2020 had bugs at the beginning have we can describe this…
We will always be limited by something, thats the nature of flightsim. But the difference in mainthread utilization between SU2 and SU3 beta is not acceptable!
Again SU2 MT utilization 10-12 ms.
SU3 beta 18-28 ms. What da hell???
INI A350 not usable anymore.
I have a strange CPU behaviour in VR with Pimax Crystal OG using foveated rendering. When I first load a flight I get high CPU frame times, from 17ms up to 20 or even 30ms and above (meanwhile my 4090 GPU is hardly being used). With the same simple GA aircraft and loading a new flight the CPU will for no apparent reason drop down to 10-12 MS in rural areas. FPS then goes from high 40’s to low 50’s before to up to stable mid 60’s, even peaking at 70fps at times. No idea what’s causing this. 4090, 50800x3D 64 GB ram Win 11.
