Just for your info, i integrated in my mod a more greyish “white” frame around advisory and warning panel. ;-).It’s now available with v1.02 iteration of my mod.
You can compare with the real one hereunder ![]()

That’s not the case. In the kodiak for example the mixture axis or Inc/Dec bindings work just fine. So this is something for the dev to implement it seems.
This really looks outstanding Bud!! ![]()
Thanks for the work on this !
Will give it a go !
Thank you sir. Giving it a go now in Raller’s own livery.
Black Square TBM 850 N851TB with Interior (Dyn. Reg.) for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS
EDIT: Superb work as usual.
It is the case the mixture axis worked for the condition lever in all Turbo Props prior to SU6. It is the only reason I had to add vjoy to my controls repitoire.
I am not saying devs cannot do something on the back end. Most use the conditon lever bindings now which require axis range definitions to button push bindings in order to use an axis for the condition lever.
I fully understand but that’s not what you originally said. Thanks for the clarification.
I use a honeycomb Bravo and with aao I put low and high idle an a mixture lever. Cutoff is when you put the lever in reverse. Button pressed = cut off button release= low idle. Works perfect for me
I did the same and it works perfectly on my Bravo.
I can also really recommend the blacksquare Cessna 208 Grand Caravan if youre enjoying steam gauge turboprops. Its such a great/easy aircraft to fly in terms of flight model.
Anyone got any suggestions on how to get rid of the GNS530 message about setting course when it appears to be automatic in the HSI?
Thanks,
I dont think you can, This is not TBM 850 specific problem. Soon as MSG flashes I press.
I may be wrong but the GNS530 gives you that message after every waypoint to remind the Pilot to set the heading, in case the nav GPS goes wrong.
I always set my heading bug same as the GPS heading soon as my aircraft changes direction. Habit I have always done.
But this is not related to TBM but the wtt GNS530.
Disclaimer I am not a real pilot, like I say this is my Guess, and assume this is how the real GNS 530 behaves in real life. Please anyone correct me if I am wrong and giving wrong advice. I know its nothing todo with the TBM, which I love flying one of my top ten.
Yes, BKSQ Caravan is one of my favorites. VERY easy to overspeed and get the dreaded “end of flight” squeal sound, be forewarned. But very easy to fly, nice vision, short field capable, well modeled.
I think the best way to handle custom views is to bind “save custom camera view 1” (or 2, 3, etc) to some key combo (For instance, I use CTRL-numpad # to save custom views, i.e. CTRL-numpad 2 is copilot seat), then also bind “custom camera view” to the corresponding numpad # (i.e.- numpad 2 for copilot seat). This is a straightforward system that works in any aircraft and allows 9 custom views available. Also works great in VR since the numpad is easy for feel around for. A couple caveats; 1. of course you have to have bindings to move around the cockpit/cabin like forward, back, up, down, left, right (or use xbox like controller) 2. it may take some trial and error to get the camera positions correct, VR is finicky since the camera position is determined by the actual position of the headset relative to your tracking center, but once you get the views set they are good to go. And yea that default pilot position in TBM850 is no bueno lol.
There are 10 camera positions that you can save and recall
0-9 where 0 is always camera number 10 for me! Theoretically, you can also take a position with TrackIR, press save for the respective camera and then when you return to the central position and call up the previously saved camera, this is the new position of the respective camera. Will also work like this with VR - head tracking is and remains head tracking ![]()
And don’t forget to reserve a button on the Joke for centered head tracking. ![]()

Managed a very quick first flight in the new 850 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not often that I do a Flight Director approach in something so new but it all felt so “right” with regard to the new flight model. All I need now, is more time… lots of it ![]()
A condition lever is not a mixture control. Asobo does provide a separate condition lever axis but I am not sure if it works.
At the risk of shocking all my steam gauge friends, I must say that having bought this aircraft and spent some time on it, I do appreciate the intricate work that has gone into this 850, but steam gauges aren’t really for me. I love the 930, but the flight model is poor. Do you think I could copy the contents of the BlackSquare flight_model.cfg file over to the stock 930 to improve it, or are the two aircraft vastly different?
Just to clarify - what you say is right and most of us now that too - BUT in the game, for a lot of turbo prob aircraft - the ingame mixture axis also is mapped to the ingame condition lever axis. Same with for instance the Rudder Axis still works as Helicopter Tailrotor Axis. But the Problem is, that if addressed via SimConnect from outside the sim, some of these Mappings dont work properly.
