did you try to open it with notepad++ ?

This or the A2A ? Just a bit tired of getting dissapointed on planes. I want, exept for correct flight charasteristics, also really good sounds, especially cockpit sounds. There HAS to be more small sounds of all kinds in a cockpit, both at revving, takeoff, cruise, landing etc. I miss those parts quite a lot The sound is too “clean” in many cases. The raw feeling of “beeing there” is gone, even without simulated headphones. Ive already got the BS A36 Bonanza, and its quite good Not sure which one of the others to get… From what Ive understood Black Square adds analogue gauges…but then nothing more? Is that right. so the TBM 850 will behave and sound like the one thats already in the game? =P
Both Black Square and A2A are excellent. When I used P3D back in the day A2A was pretty much top dog when it comes to aircraft for GA fans. Virtually nothing came close. Black Square is in my opinion very close to A2A in quality and will be even closer with the release of the Duke. Here is the tablet coming up for example…
Black Square is great but A2A is out of the league. It is the best GA airplane in this sim, hands down, period.
Back to the topic - unfortunately nothing works I have all WT addons up to date, modified code line and A/P is still very irregular in its operation. Guess I would have to wait for update.
I put the BKSQ TBM-850 as #1 and A2A Comanche as #2 as my latest top ten list in another thread in this forum, and I almost flipped a coin for the order.
Get em both! Very different “form factors” in terms of speed, automation, etc. It’s hard to compare the two, like a road bike vs. a mountain bike.
Which one has the better sounds, feeling when flying (and more realistic) you think. Not sure Im a fan of turboprops generally, mayby the A2A is more my gem. But its slow, right?
The Comanche is probably the current gold standard for immersion and feel.
The A2A Comanche is relatively quick for what it is typically cruising at 150 kts TAS at altitude .
So it is substantially faster than a 172 and faster than the normally aspirated Arrow. It is getting up towards the turbo-Arrow/Bonanza/ Mooney in performance.
It is however not turbo normalised (or pressurised) so struggles at higher altitudes and certainly is NOT capable of cruising in the 200 - 250 kts range at 20,000 feet plus like a fast piston twin (Aerostar for example) or a fast turbo prop like the TBM 850 .
The TBM is using sounds from the default TBM 930 as was mentioned some time back so that gives some idea for a comparison. The A2A is generally well rounded on all fronts particularly flight model. If you are big on sounds the C414 for me is probably one of the best in the sim. Other aircraft are better in other departments. I don’t think it fair or even legitimate to compare aircraft that have totally different use cases. The Comanche is great but it’s not suitable for many flights so you need a fleet if you are wanting to span a wider selection of flights. I mean sure people have flown single pistons around the world and such but that doesn’t make it generally suitable. For my high powered turbo prop I went with the very nice SWS PC-12. It’s obviously a personal choice whichever you choose or prefer.
yeah … don’t forget about the Duke, may have some Boris sound touch

maybe concider FSrealistic audio add-on or aircraft enhanced with Boris sounds
I still have both Boris sound pack (C172 & C152) on my wish list and havn’t tried them yet but heard lot of good from them.
it requires lot of time / money to record good Wwise sound, the unfamous Twin otter was a great exemple … I prefer having good default asobo sounds than too loud sounds, bad loops that become silent engines once they tried to correct it with making the fix worse than the initial -_- about the TBM 850 I m satisfied , havn’t seen many complain about sounds, if it s a main concern, check various review or stream flying it to make your opinion (even if sound volume and quality may be degraded by live stream encoding)
Keep in mind we can’t compare an A2A team with a lot of record tools and ressources, to a one man team ![]()
Nick always tweaks the default sounds, he also add some missing alert and to add more immersion than the stock aircraft, maybe the analog caravan may fit your expectation ? @AirPorkOne
Hello! Why do you prefer the PC-12 over the TBM 930? What do you think is…well, better? =)
Hi! I’ve had my struggles with FS Realistic. Not my cup of tea really. But sure, some sounds are good and the g effects are nice. But for now I’ll stay away from it, cause of problems with cockpit cameras, and a lot of stupid sounds. It’s also tolling my fps.
The Duke…well, Im not sure I know very much about it. Have to Google it! =)
Oh, I actually thought the BlackSquare team was more than one person! Great work for being done by one, I’ll say.
I don’t think I said one was better than another. I already have a TBM that I enjoy and right now have no desire for another one, albeit one of older vintage. I didn’t have a PC-12 and purposefully waited on the SWS variant because I knew it would be nicer than the Carenado offering.
Has anyone figured out how to use the flaps on the Bravo to enter and stay in 850 mode using Spad? My only solution has been to assign the VAR_850MODE to the right most switch on the Bravo.
I don’t have the bravo, but have you tried assigning that variable to the flaps up switch/button, conditional as to whether the flaps are already at 0? Heck, you could add a guard condition to it so it won’t activate outside of the torque limit prescribed in the POH.
Check out the online profile by _lukehall. He figured it out
I made my 850 mode a ‘press and hold’ function on my honeycomb flap lever. Short push is for flaps up and down and long press is for 850 mode on and off. To me, having to deliberately hold the lever kind of simulates having to lift the lever up and over the gate in the real plane. I used AAO but SPAD should work just fine too.
Hi. So, I got the 850 today. BUT…its freezing cold in the cabin. Temps down to -20c or more. My temp reached -30 C and would have gone colder (weirdly I was not going higher than about 28000 ft) Not sure what Ive done wrong. is the heat working? Please have a look here, everything should be set correctly. What have I missed? =/ Lovely aircraft so far! But cold… =P Whats the service ceiling of this beast btw?
You’ll need to turn on the Bleed Air, A/C, and Fan Flow switches, all located by the Cabin Pressure selector wheel, and then adjust the temperature knob. This plane holds temperatures much better than say the BKSQ Bonanza/Baron/Caravan…I’m constantly back and forth freezing or frying.
The below is a really good, simplified checklist that gives you the minimum steps to get up and running on this plane. Recommend turning failures off if you do the simplified, however. For safety’s sake!
