I think the plan was to release the Dukes and then update the 850 with some of the things introduced in the Dukes. Perhaps updated sounds and EFB (not 100% sure about EFB but maybe).
Checking the JF forum, Nick has been sharing updates and plans for previous aircraft in a pretty fair way. As stated by Kayembee370, some features introduced in the Duke, such as the EFB or those enabled by recent sim updates, will be implemented in the TBM.
Keep in mind that BS is not a huge studio but a one-man development team. Personally, I prefer having significant updates spaced out over time rather than minor updates every week.
yep…
7 months? It’s been a while. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect updates more often than that.
And to be honest, i have no use for an EFB.
This is a screenshot of my problem that shows the AP engaged in heading mode, the plane in a hard roll to the right, the yoke pulling hard to the left, the heading bug a few degrees to the left, and gps mode still active. While AP is engaged, if I move my physical flight stick at all, the yoke reacts in the opposite direction. If I disengage AP, it syncs up.
have you tried with another avionic stack ? like with pms50 GTN750 & without GNS530,
are all your mods up to date ?
maybe some mod conflict ?
curious to see it following a GPS track while in HDG … maybe a binding issue keep sending nav mode despite cockpit show HDG mode ?
I found a thread in the Just Flight forum that shows people having the same problem and it being a working title bug that never got fixed. Looks like the black square developer thought it would be fixed when SU 15 was out. I’ve posted there to let him know that it is still happening.
good point you posted there;
when going in content manager everything related to WT is up to date ? fact is I flew several times the TBM with same stack configuration as your screenshot and never experienced your issue since SU 15 ![]()
curious, in your opinion what needs to be updated? fair enough you don’t want an efb. what else needs to be addressed?
Everything is up to date in the content manager. I tried uploading the 550 and 450 files per black squares instructions on that other thread but it didn’t help. I’ve tried any combo of the GPS options. No matter what when the autopilot is on, any subtle movement from my stick will pull the sim’s yoke in the opposite direction and keep it from following the heading bug at all. Even though AP is on and on heading mode. This didn’t happen until sometime in the last few days or week or so. I am about to give up a just take a break for a while. I am getting too frustrated!
Hello. Should we uninstall these files ?
no no it s fine, they are part of the base sim now , at least speaking about the gns530 & 430 by WT they should not be source of any conflict
I don’t think his Bonanza has had an update since the first week of release, and that plane definitely has some bugs. It’s also crying out for flight model improvements.
The GTN750 and GNS530 still won’t talk to each other in the Caravan either. If that’s a sim limitation why even allow both avionics together? Do they work in the TBM? From Boatmans pic it looks like they do…
I think that it is a very complete aircraft. One thing they could look at though is to see if any improvements have been made by Asobo in SU15 regarding turboprop physics could be incorporated. The beta range is still (IMO) a bit sketchy (like all msfs turboprops). Other than that, I can’t think of much that needs updating.
Baron and Bonanza may actually receive more extensive updates than the King Air and Caravan. I’ve already back-ported a lot of the new technology from the Piston Duke into those aircraft already, and I’m just awaiting time to test everything before releasing. I haven’t started my overhaul of the King Air and Caravan yet, as they are obviously more complex aircraft that will fight me all the way, haha.
The above is from Nick, so that sounds promising for the Bonanza/Baron at least!
Some degree of patience is called for.
Pointing out what features may be a priority to work on is useful.
Getting stressed about timelines is not.
Question; How would I get a distance measurement to an NDB? I can set the NDB in on the ADF frequency but I can’t find any knob switch or dial to give me a distance to that.
NDBs do not have that capability. Just an arrow to follow. If you’re near to NDBs, you can sort of triangulate and get a rough idea of distance.
IIRC, there are at least two locations in Alaska where there is an NDB and a DME-only VOR station co-located, so you can tune in the DME on your NAV radio and fly towards the needle for heading.
