Haven’t specifically tried to break it like of course we’ll all do sooner or later on the things with failures and I don’t tend to break them on accident much. PMDG DC6 is really the only thing I ever am surprised by a random failure from mismanagement with. Sometimes the Comanche or Black Square stuff fails on me too but like I already knew it was a bad idea to take off from Telluride in the Comanche in 100 degree heat and I was doing it for the challenge.
I get it though I like that being something you actually have to worry about
I’m not sure there’s a true ‘study level’ (I hate that term lol) business jet out there. As mentioned above, the FSW Learjet 35 is good and the upcoming Xtreme Prototypes Learjet 25 should be good too if their offerings in previous sims is anything to go on. But that being said, Working Title did a great job improving the default Cessna jets and they are honestly about as good as anything else out there and you already own them. If you’re not dead set on having a pure jet, the Black Square King Air might be worth a look. It’s typical Black Square quality and does failure modeling.
Can we just all agree to not call it study level, hate that too, and use high realism. Or even better, high fidelity and we can use hifi for short there that’s better there we go.
Ya though, kind of a shame. I like the hifi stuff(maybe if I start using that it’ll become a thing) and the Lear is at least good enough for me to be satisfying, I’d like more depth but there’s a hard to define line in the sand somewhere that makes it just not satisfying for me and this well exceeds that.
25 sounds fun but like also there’s a real big difference between an old Lear and a modern Gulfstream or Falcon and it’s a real shame those aren’t something we can experience virtually.
I think you hit the nail on the head. My friend used the PMDG to study while he was being trained for his type rating for the 737. it means close enough that you can use it as a study tool to learn the processes for the real thing.
Which kind of makes it even less of a relevant term because it’s used to just mean ‘very realistic’ not ‘this has accurate enough flows to use it to study for a type rating’
The TBM 850, or anything with BlackSquare written on it, will indeed meet your expectations in terms of “study-levelness”
Now, to be more on the “personal jet” for the “richest of rich” people, there would be some alternatives (some of which have been mentioned above already), but the main thing that comes to my mind is the soon-to-be-released (hopefully) Starship from BlackSquare. For the richest of rich, but only the most stylish ones
Does anyone else have the issue that FD annunciations don’t seem to come up correctly? Eg if you click the HDG button it still says ROL and PIT (but the FD chevron seems to behave as though HDG mode has been selected).
I’ve deleted the mod (manually deleted all files to make sure it’s all gone) and reinstalled but it didn’t seem to solve the problem.
I keep looking at this very tempted I must admit, I’m waiting for people who have tried it to actually share some hands on reviews, there are 11 5* reviews on the store so far! I know I’ll succumb eventually as I love the 930 and this has so much extra thrown at it. I acually dont think £34.99 is a bad price either for what your getting, and I presume it will pass over to msfs2024.
There are a ton of great reviews on YouTube worth watching because not only will they tell you how great the plane is, they will also show you how to use many of the unique systems the plane has as well as how to fly it well.
