I also noticed the massive difference in how the planes fly. It’s immediately noticeable and a thing of beauty, of course it depends what plane and it’s ultimately up to third parties to leverage the full potential of the sim in their study level releases, but I absolutely agree here. Loads of potential.
‘Consoles’ are higher mid-end computers.
Exactly, that way it can alleviate the strain being placed on the servers
Hoping for extra benefit I increased my rolling cache to 64GB. Haven’t found it yet and haven’t a clue how to see how much is being used and with what.
Btw in the Library I have 734 streamed objects mostly planes, airports and those essentials like: wolf, lion, cow and zebra.
Asobo I’m very upset there are no wildebeest; that will destroy the immersion of flying over the savanna at sunset. Do you even have a test zoo keeper? ![]()
I remember hearing the same thing mentioned as well. I’ve read some post here that mention that we will be able to download more stuff once the marketplace becomes available. Hopefully this is true
Call of duty has managed to do it year after year. It is possible, and certain game modes require an online connection; however the install size is like 150gb to install maps and other assets. Think about it, that game is not even remotely rendering the entire world and it has a much larger initial install size than what we have with this sim. It does not surprise me that the servers went crazy
I completely agree. The sim has so much potential, and the different modes make you fell more connected with people. The flight model is greatly improved. The only real issue is the slow streaming of assets
I agree, the one time cost of a hard drive expansion is much cheaper over time than a high speed internet subscription monthly
Absolutely agree. I have a 2tb SSD drive that I can easily put to use.
More servers should be set up in countries and regions with a large population, as this game is a disaster for Chinese players.
I had the same thing happen. At one point the landing gear was all white as if it were the blender rendition, and the livery contained no text. Mind you I have 2000gbit internet through my ISP.
Yes, please vote, and please share this post with others so that they can vote if they agree and we can get the attention of the devs.
Yes flying the Cessna from my local airfield felt and looked realistic, both scenery and turns. Descending I could sense the speed from the engine sound.
I like the internal HUD a lot, it is easy to glance down from a wide view and I quickly latched onto the digital speed.
My one gripe from the runway was the trees on the local hill were far too tall and near the runway too green considering its autumn/winter.
These details can all be improved of course - something for next year, hopefully we could submit scenery changes in the future or high res photos for the ai engines.
I noticed on my system the cache file was created on starting the game and was deleted when I exited. Nothing that was streamed was saved for the next time.
Here’s what I noticed, not saying this is correct; the world data loads upon entry, if you get the Loading unusually long message your world data streaming ran into an issue, then you receive a Bandwidth message that’s basically telling you (without saying) you won’t be receiving anymore data. You go into the sim and find out world data, etc, is missing. This is a very poor design for sure.
There will be many updates and improvements. But to see that flying feels so good already at the beginning of it all, is a good sign. A tree is much easier to adjust. Pumped for new study level planes using the new tech, especially rotorcraft.
Interesting. Hopefully this is an error and not by design
Yes I would prefer a huge download any day. This is disgusting. Two days and I still can’t play what I paid for.
I was finally able to get in a better flight today, yesterday was absolutely atrocious.
However, loading up initially, even looking at the ramp attendants, they were wonderfully pixelated and single polygonish.
I am using this on an Xbox yes, but I would prefer to be able to just download this to a 2 TB hard drive, that way aircraft and other personnel will just load up perfectly initially.
My Internet, where I live is rated for 100 Mb per second, but the best I can usually get is about 50 or 60. I don’t think this really works well for what I’d like to do.
I fully agree, the ability or option to download pertinent data would be extremely helpful in making this flight Sim run smoothly
I don’t think I’ll go all in on 2024 unless you can store most of the base assets locally.
I’d vastly prefer to give up 1-200 gb in return for something that, y’know, works most of the time.
It would be sensible if this does become a thing. Also less load for them to send out as well.
If they can do it with planes and marketplace stuff eventually they can also do it with more content.
Ideally they won’t cling on to the stream all philosophy. It won’t work for a lot of people.
