Hi , not sure if it’s right place to post it, seems super easy but…
I wanted to make some thumbnail for repaint aircraft and the flow is pretty simple…
1.
Go to hangar choose New Project in Dev menu then click OK,
2.
Then little plus sign bottom left ,
3.
New window opens to name your project , whatever you want
4.
Go to Inspector and in this window you select “capture aircraft thumbnail” asks you for folder to save and once I press select it quickly pop up screen as if it is making the thumbnail, but when i go to folder there is nothing there no new PNG file has been created.
I tried running MSFS as admin but it made no difference, as if something is preventing the program to save this thumbnail… ?
any help is appreciated
thats fine but does not solve my problem. I likes the default funktion because all tumbnails become the same position and view.
update: I got a hint in an other forum, since I am using an ultra wide monitor tumbnail generation fails, after I did set MSFS to standard resolution I was able to generate tumbnails with the defaul generator.
It would be nice if they change the default position and angle. The reason why I don’t like the default thumbnail is that the position is practically viewing the aircraft from the front with a slight angle to the starboard side. While it can look uniform, it’s almost difficult to see what the livery actually look like due to the weird angle. Since most aircraft livery has a plain white colour as a base, I find it really difficult to differentiate between liveries since they look practically the same, I had to either read the livery information to see which livery it is, or I squint my eyes to look at the tail section that’s so distant to see which livery it is.
That’s why I prefer to make my own livery. I just put the airline photo, put some white transparent filter on top, and place the logo of the airline on top. And I do the same for all my liveries, so they’re uniform and consistent.
the issue has been because I am using a ultra wide screen with a resolution of 3840x1600.
If I was setting the resolution to an standard resolution HD 1920x1080 it has been possible to use the default tumbnail generator again.
