Through Ground, Tower, Radar, Scottish and London Control provided by professional controllers, the UK ATC group will be hosting a Manchester (EGCC) Staff-up on Flight Events, giving you ample opportunity to fly VFR and IFR!

We have rostered the following positions to be staffed on the UK ATC Discord server for the full 2 hours:

  • EGCC_GND “Manchester Ground”

  • EGCC_N_TWR “Manchester Tower”

  • EGCC_S_APP “Manchester Radar”

  • MAN_CTR “Scottish Control”

  • LON_CTR "London Control

  • SCO_CTR “Scottish Control”

… if you’re on the Ground contact Ground first, and note that this is NOT VATSIM, instead it is a separate ATC group based on Discord!

You will have full en-route ATC in the entire United Kingdom! Remember to file a flight plan if you’re IFR - we recommend using SimBrief (https://www.simbrief.com/), downloading the FS2020 flight plan and importing it into flight map in FS2020 (space bar). This is because the default flight planner generates inaccurate routes, but of course this is not mandatory. You can also use the flight plans attached on the Flight Events post! (Flight Events (flighttracker.tech))

Recommended IFR Routes with full ATC:

  • EGCC <> EGKK (London Gatwick, South London) … about 1 hr flight time
  • EGCC <> EGPH (Edinburgh, Scotland) … about 1 hr flight time
  • EGCC <> EGAA (Belfast, Northern Ireland) … about 1 hr flight time
  • EGCC <> EGHQ (Newquay, Southwest England) … about 1 hr 15 min flight time
  • EGCC <> EGGD (Bristol, Southwest England) … about 1 hr flight time

Recommended VFR Routes with full ATC:*

(We recommend using LittleNavMap: https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap.html if you don’t have charts)

  • EGCC <> EGGP (Liverpool, west of Manchester, leave via Stretton or Thelwall Viaduct)
  • EGCC <> EGNM (Leeds, northeast of Manchester, leave via Dovestone Reservoirs or Heaton Interchange)

Note that you will need to link your Flight Events client to your Discord and start in the 135.480 voice channel on our Discord in order for your voice channel to change when you change your frequency in COM1 of your simulator!
