Does this sim architechture allow for map upgrades as Bing upgrades?
Many of the maps are dated, and I wondered if we would be seeing future improvements
Bing map updates will happen on a regular cadence. The world will be constantly improving.

My follow-up question -perhaps something for the next developer q&a- on this is; whether community feedback or reports on certain locations will help improve the overall quality of the world. In other words: Can the team manually edit locations based on user feedback, or are they dependent on e.g. Bing Maps data? How does this work?

They’ll be manually editing location + updating with bing. They said they’ll go region by region with a regular cadence of releases, updating the maps and adding in new POIs as they go. Not sure how much our feedback will prioritize an area or region or not.
from what i gathered over the last few months is that the bing maps update about every 2 months, but whether or not they include that area into the build I guess we will have to see…
Well, that’s exactly my question here. If I see anomalies in the terrain on a certain location and report it, can they do something about it or are they dependent on the data provided to fix the issues.
For example: I’ve seen parts of the world where there are issues with height mapping (bumps in terrain) and places where the AI doesn’t place buildings/trees (flat 2d image). Can the community play some kind of role in this to get these issues fixed or do we have to wait for these updates?
