We started using the simulator yesterday. We were quickly able to find our town and even our house. We did this a few times yesterday. Today, the buildings do not look appropriate. The highway and rivers seem accurate but when we go to our home area none of the buildings look familiar. Anyone else experiencing similar problems?
The issue you’re seeing is rendering through photogrammetry vs AI. Only some parts of the map will appear as they do in real life - you can find a list of the cities here.
If you found your house yesterday but couldn’t today, I’m guessing you were having some issues with your connection. Photogrammetry is streamed, rather than stored on-device, so you’ll only see the realistic buildings if you have internet access. You can also check to make sure that photogrammetry is enabled in your settings.

We have the internet connected again. Is it normal for the Photogrammetry setting to be “on” but grayed out so it isn’t adjustable?
I don’t recall that happening to me, although unfortunately I messed up my transition from the game pass version to full ownership so I can’t launch it and try to figure out what’s happening. One thing you may want to do is ensure that the photogrammetry is actually working, rather than just displaying “on” - can’t imagine why it would show that it’s enabled, but not allow you to turn it off. That’ll be the first step to diagnosing the issue - hopefully another person will come along and figure out the rest. (Alternatively, if I get my version figured out before I leave town on Saturday, I’ll try and replicate the issue)
