Its when multiple players share a cockpit…

But is the 2nd player in the same room as the 1st or is he somewhere out on the internet?

Well ideally, a lot of us would like it to encompass having anyone on the net available for you to add to your virtual cockpit, just like adding a friend to your net list.

aaah, my bad

Hi! It says the poor performance on the ground is fixed on the feedback snapshot has been fixed but certainly on the Xbox, it’s still pretty temperamental. Tried to take off for the New Zealand update and still have issues keeping the planes in a straight line. Is anyone else still having this issue?

It hasn’t been fixed on PC either. This isn’t the first time an item gets marked as “fixed” when it hasn’t been.

It’s the mark of the greater sum. If they test 10 computers and 8/10 are fixed. It’s fixed. Otherwise we’d never get anywhere.

So using your logic, if I go to play this Sim and it only starts 8 of 10 times that’s fine?
I believe I’d have quite an issue with that.

How exactly are they supposed to make sure that issues are fixed for every single user and computer configuration? They can’t. There has to be a point where there are going to be some people that are going to get the short end of the stick. Let’s say they did make sure everyone had the issue totally fixed. How long are you willing to wait for releases? People seem to get pretty annoyed if things take too long on here.

Steady releases of new content/patches and fixes OR waiting 6 months + to a year for something bug free, which for the amount of users, just isn’t feasible.

Maybe you have a crosswind and don’t know how to deal with it?

I’m fairly sure it’s not crosswind. I’ll have to run a few tests but I do usually take wind into account when picking my runways. I’ll experiment and report back!

And apparently their contract for NavBlue to provide charts has fallen through, and they do not have any plans to do this natively (I saw a reference to “Charts - Not Planned”) somewhere.

Your feeling would be correct. They have been repeating this over and over since day one. As @skypilotYTS said, they have a contract with MeteoBlue to do this, and, as you can see from their discussions in every Dev Q&A, the hooks into letting people get in and manipulate this functionality would be wayyyyy too complex to allow other people to do it, not to mention all the IP that would be exposed from Asobo and MeteoBlue code.

Unfortunately, people are confusing two very different subjects here. Since day one they have directly said they will never consider allowing other third party companies to CONTROL the weather.

What they agreed to was they will open up access for third parties to interrogate what the weather is through some interface or variables so things like weather radar can work properly, and perhaps allow better integration for flight planning software to see what the weather is along a route. When they release the first vestiges of this functionality, I don’t think they have a complete plan for it yet.

And they didn’t just say “No, we’re not going to do it”. They investigated pretty deeply and did try to fix it, but couldn’t figure out how without rewriting the code, as you noted.

Actually, it’s a 100% different reason they can’t fix this. It has nothing to do with contracts or addons or whatever. As @skypilotYTS said, it’s deep in the rendering code, and they determined they can’t fix it at this time.

Makes sense. The weather itself is MB’s. So I wouldn’t expect them to give any form of control or manipulation ability outside of Asobo. Being able to ‘read’ the weather though seems like such a trivial thing to allow developers to do and use. It’s unfortunate but hopefully in the spirit of simming things may change in the future. Where’s this information about agreeing to ‘interrogate’ the weather? Do you have a specific post, article, or video saying that? If so, then it sounds like WXR functionality shouldn’t be too far behind. I don’t think developers want to change the weather as much as they just want to be able to display it in their radars. That’s not really a big ask IMO.

The horizon line being a code issue has been around for some time now so I don’t know how someone came to the conclusion it was because of contracts.

I believe they mentioned it in at least one of the last two Dev Q&A’s, and I think @Bishop398 has discussed it here and there.

We are still working to finalize the framework update for AAU_01 content, including plug-in documentation – stay tuned.

How long is this going to languish? This should have been done before the release of AAU1. There are far too many marketplace and otherwise 3rd party devs who cannot do their work until this is done. Get it done already.

Neither, you connect two systems directly with really long fiber-optic cables. The two persons must live within two kilometers of each other though.

Wow. Entitled attitude much? You obviously have no clue how much work is involved in what you’re asking for. Not only do they have man-months if not man-years of writing to do, they have to localize it, too, which takes a whole other team.

It starts annoying me that they do still not care about us Homecockpit Builders :frowning:
