Marketplace and CRJ2

Just contacted support. They say it is not possible to identity an idividual item from our end using purchase history. Kinda ridiculous.

The fact that the invoices don’t even show what you purchased on the Marketplace is just another failure of the marketplace.

So they can look up orders to process refunds, but can’t look up orders when requested? That doesn’t sound right. Every order has an order number, and as long as one has that MS should be able to look up the purchase.

Totally agree. I wonder why the invoices don’t show what was purchased? They don’t when I receive an e-mail verification, and they don’t on MS’s website.

On MS’s website I do see my MSFS and MSFS2024 purchases but with all the other orders there is no indication of what I purchased.

Just submitted a ticket for a transfer along with a screen shot showting the library with my Gamertag and the CRJ and CRJ 900/1000 packages. We will see what happens..

I just did the same. I’ll report back with the results.

So far, nothing. Granted it has been the weekend but hoping to hear back tomorrow.

I emailed Aerosoft too to ask if they were actually allowing transfers to Aerosoft One and they told me this:

Hello there,

Thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, your information is incorrect. We are unable to offer transfers to Aerosoft One at this time.

Kind regards

Edit: I wonder why @sneakyLari got a different reply–I emailed them the same day that sneaky got a response, the 6th. No consistency?

What’s up with Aerosoft and Justflight? I own many of their addons for 2020, and a majority of them are simply not available in 2024. Smaller Developers have already acted

Despite Aerosoft confirming that the CRJ v2 update was submitted to Microsoft on April 2, 2025, the aircraft remains inaccessible for MSFS 2024 users via the Marketplace — even though the Marketplace now lists it as compatible with MSFS 2024.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Actions I Have Taken:
Contacted Microsoft Support: They could not provide a timeline or contact for the Marketplace team. I was encouraged to post in the forums for visibility.

Submitted a Formal Letter to Executive Escalations: Outlining concerns related to customer experience, the delay timeline, and potential breach of digital product standards.

Forum Post Made Private: I shared this issue previously on the forums — the post was promptly made private, despite complying with all community guidelines.

Product Page Now States MSFS 2024 Compatibility: The CRJ v2 listing on the MSFS 2020 Marketplace explicitly states it works with MSFS 2024, yet it remains unavailable in the 2024 build for customers who purchased it.

Reply below or create your own post — the more visibility, the more pressure for transparency.

Upvote or share this post if you agree this issue deserves attention.

This is more than a delay — it’s a lack of transparency that impacts paying customers. Let’s work together to get Microsoft to acknowledge and resolve this issue publicly.

This creates a confusing and potentially misleading experience for users who reasonably expect the product to work in MSFS 2024.

Under U.S. consumer protection law, continuing to market a product as compatible while withholding access to that version may raise concerns related to:

  • Potentially deceptive trade practices;
  • Breach of the implied warranty that the product is fit for its ordinary purpose;
  • Lack of transparency that affects a user’s ability to make informed choices.

Created a second ticket on this issue. It will undoubtedly be closed as “solved” with a comment that it is a 3rd party compliance issue. Ridiculous

Folks,

Please do not create Zendesk tickets asking about release dates for Marketplace products. The Zendesk support agents are unable to provide you with the information you are requesting, so they will not be able to resolve your ticket to your satisfaction.

The team is already aware that many of you are eagerly anticipating the Marketplace release of the Aerosoft CRJ v2. We don’t have more information about its MP release timing that we can share at this moment.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Thank you for the response, MSFS Team.

However, I must respectfully point out that your message does not address the core concerns raised, particularly the legal implications of the current Marketplace listing for the Aerosoft CRJ v2.

The issue at hand is not simply a delay in release. The Marketplace product page now states that the CRJ v2 is compatible with MSFS 2024, while users who have purchased it remain unable to access or use it within that version of the simulator. This discrepancy has serious implications under U.S. consumer protection law, including:

  • Potential deceptive trade practices, due to listing a product as compatible when it is not functionally available;
  • Breach of the implied warranty of merchantability, as the product is not fit for its advertised ordinary purpose;
  • Failure to disclose material limitations, which impacts a customer’s ability to make an informed purchasing decision.

To date, these legal concerns have not been acknowledged or addressed by your team. The decision to advise users not to submit tickets, while understandable from a support workflow perspective, does not substitute for transparency, accountability, or a formal resolution pathway for affected customers.

We are simply asking for a clear, accurate update—or at minimum, a temporary correction to the product listing—until the CRJ v2 is genuinely available for MSFS 2024 users.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello @BvstyBoy,

The product descriptions for all Marketplace products are written by each product’s developer, not Microsoft. If you believe that Aerosoft have made an error with the product description, please reach out to them directly to resolve it.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Thank you for the clarification.

However, this response does not address the broader issue of platform accountability. While I understand that developers write their own product descriptions, Microsoft, as the operator of the Marketplace and the final gatekeeper for listings, bears responsibility for ensuring that product pages are not misleading or materially inaccurate.

Allowing a product to be listed as compatible with MSFS 2024—when in reality it remains inaccessible in that environment—creates a material misrepresentation to consumers. Whether that language was authored by Aerosoft or not, Microsoft is the publisher and seller of record through the in-game Marketplace, and as such, cannot disclaim all responsibility.

Directing customers to Aerosoft for what is clearly a platform-level issue feels like a deflection of responsibility. I urge the Marketplace and Community teams to take this matter seriously and work with the developer to either:

Remove or revise the compatibility claim immediately; or

Expedite the update’s availability for MSFS 2024 customers who already paid.

This is not a support ticket request—it is a legitimate consumer rights issue that remains unaddressed. I appreciate your time and look forward to a more substantive and collaborative resolution.

BvstyBoy, +1 on your efforts here. Unfortunately though, they will undoubtedly fall on deaf ears. The community has pleaded with MSAsobo for changes, updates, and improvements to the Marketplace and it’s practices, but nothing has changed. And with the army of attorneys that they have working for them, I’m certain they know that they’re not going to suffer legal consequences for not releasing the CRJ to us, especially if it really is related to some type of code problem.

The MSAsobo marketing machine knows how people think - they’ve no doubt studied behavior of people who purchase items from the MP. We all talk about boycotting the MP and saying that “we’ll never buy from there again” but you know what’s going to happen. Some people will be clicking around and see something, and instead of leaving the MP to find it elsewhere, they’ll buy it there. It’ll just be one time, they’ll say - but once they break that seal, they’ll do it again.

And when I say “marketing machine” I’m NOT referring to MSAsobo programmers or moderators. We all know they don’t make policy and don’t decide what happens on the MP.

I’m joining the line. Enough is enough.

This is absolutely a case of platform responsibility. Microsoft, in selling the original versions of add-ons such as Aerosoft CRJ and PMDG 777-300ER, have represented themselves as authorized sales agents of those ptoducts, and in so doing, they have implied that developer updates, if offered for free by the developer, would be passed along via the same platform where the purchases were made. As of today, there have been major upgrades to both the Aerosoft CRJ and the PMDG 777-300 ER presented by the respective developers, and widely publicized as being free to purchasers of the original titles, and yet Microsoft, whether through incompetence, negligence, indifference, arrogance or deliberate malfeasance, have FAILED to provide the appropriate service to their customers.

My own personal suspicion is that they are taking the extra time to determine if there is a way that they can offer the updates through Market Place for an additional upcharge, as they have done with a couple of other small airport scenery packages which i purchased on MSFS 2020 MP and then the updates were offered in MSFS 2024 for an additional fee.

So here is the deal, Microsoft. PAY ATTENTION! I hereby encourage every MSFS customer who reads this to BOYCOTT the Microsoft Store and the MSFS Market Place on both the 2020 and the 2024 platforms unless and until Microsoft gets this situation corrected
 and make no mistake
 it is theirs and theirs alone to correct. The developers are not responsible for Microsoft’s failings, regardless of why or how those failings are perpetrated.

As for me
 I just received a $50 XBox Gift Certificate for Fathers Day. Even though Microsoft has already been paid for that Gift Certificate, I refuse to use it
 I will certainly throw it in the trash before I spend it in the MSFS Market Place.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who is this hacked off at Microsoft over this issue. I hope others will join my boycott as long as Microsoft has their heads up and locked.

Oh
 one more thing
 if someone wants to argue that Microsoft is reluctant to release the updates until they test them for compatibility and function, DON’T MAKE ME LAUGH! Remember that Microsoft is the company that slammed MSFS 2024 into production well ahead of adequate testing and the whole thing was, depending on your perspective, a huge joke or a huge disaster for the first several months after release.

@WhskyTango51,

All product pricing is determined by each third party developer, not by Microsoft. If there is an upgrade fee for a 2024 version of an existing 2020 product, the decision to charge that fee or to offer the upgrade at no cost to existing customers is entirely the developer’s. Microsoft provides seller capabilities in the Marketplace so developers can either provide no-cost updates or to charge an upgrade fee, but the decision whether to charge that fee or not is solely the developer’s to make.

Thanks,
MSFS Team
