Can you not use funds in your Microsoft account to make in game purchases? I tried to purchase a plane from the market place, first it did noting, then had to enable the Steam overlay for it to work, no it’s asking me to add funds to my steam account.
If you bought MSFS through Steam, that’s where you make purchases. They’re separate stores. You buy and pay from the same store you got your sim from. What money you have in your MS Store account is irrelevent to Steam.

Thanks, that’s what I kinda figured, I was hoping there was a way around it.
Yup. It’s like trying to use your Walmart gift cards at Target. They won’t honour each others’ credits, despite the fact it’s the same product you may want to buy.
To be clear, I’m not criticizing this setup. Each platform runs their separate store. It is what it is.
