Marketplace Situation .... from a Dev View

So it is a unique appstore.

My point is, it’s not easy to please everyone. And I’m not shilling for Microsoft when I say that. There is good and bad to be found in how they do business with regard to unregulated (i.e. unvetted) 3rd party apps and how those apps behave in their software - and the problems they may cause with their user’s experiences running that software. But the root of this discussion seems to be about how MS handles apps and updates that make it into their Marketplace (appstore.)

Certainly the dialog needs to be kept open and honest. Suggestions and critiques are important to the evolution of any product. I for one don’t want to have to buy every mod from the Microsoft Store. I appreciate that they have a dedicated group of developers vetting 3rd party MSFS mods.

Maybe I just have a different view of wait time, and what I find acceptable. Lord knows in my job I’ve run into too many situations where software developers release products that appease CFO’s and Marketing Directors more than protect their end user. In my case, the software is not ‘hobby stuff,’ it’s critical to the operation of broadcast facilities, who can’t afford to purchase products that don’t work right. I’d much rather wait for things to be done right, than worry about about getting it into my hands as quickly as possible. I also realize that ‘fixes’ are another story. And knowing that the staff working on those is small, I understand the frustration.
