During the live stream Jorg stated there would be the ability for 3rd Parties to off 1, 3 and 7 days rental, with option to make 1 day free.
I’d suggest Microsoft make the 1 day free a mandatory default for all marketplace additions. This would be the best method to ensure people do not get ripped off with bad developers offerings.
This would also improve sales for those people who are unsure of spending larger amounts, as unsure if they would like the add-on or if it was worth it.
I think there’s often a misunderstanding with submitted and spontaneous questions in chat – They often don’t understand what’s actually meant, and then they give the wrong answer and close the thread, even though the answer had nothing to do with the original topic. The best example was Jörg’s response to Marketplace Lag, “If the devs don’t submit it, there’s nothing they can do.” But it was about the delays that occur weekly, with CRJ being the most extreme example. He misunderstood it at two points in the stream: once about Marketplace, and then again at the beginning.
I was glad to see Jorg was also unimpressed with many of the poorly developed planes in the marketplace. Perhaps now they will do something about MScenery flooding the marketplace with tat.
Its just that there are so many planes by MScenery, that it takes a while to actually find a plane you are looking for. I looked for the Citation X for purchase, and with developer names not showing up unless you scroll over, I kept scrolling up and down and up and down actually TRYING to find the one plane I was looking for. So its not just that it is poor quality, its the volume of individual products they have makes it so that finding a product that isn’t MScenery or Captain Sim is so difficult. It just shouldn’t be that difficult.
I really loath these kinds of dark patterns. It’s outright unethical. I don’t think that Jorg has much to say about the MP though. That’s a totally different department so it seems.
I agree that the names should be visible AND excludable.
We have heard and agree with the feedback that it can be difficult to find something you’re interested in buying if you’re just casually browsing the Marketplace but not looking for anything in particular, but searching for a specific product from a specific developer isn’t an issue.
