Monday Helicopter Flight – Fiji Helipads & Airstrips Adventure

Our Monday helicopter flights have moved to our Summer start time of 10:30 UTC. Make sure those clocks are set — we’d hate to see you arriving just as the rest of us disappear over the horizon!
Andrew tipped me off about a fantastic freeware scenery pack covering Fiji’s helipads and airstrips, and it looked far too good not to build a Monday flight around.
So this week we’re heading to Fiji! 
Our route connects a huge selection of the helipads and airstrips included in the pack, giving us more than 20 stops along the way.
The flight plan itself is quite short at just 129 NM. Normally that would only take us a little over an hour, but with more than 20 landings to attempt, I suspect we’ll be spending considerably more time on the ground — or hovering nervously beside it!
Some of the pads are quite tight, so this probably isn’t the week to bring your biggest helicopter. Something around 90 knots or slower will be ideal. The H500 should be perfect, or dust off the Robinson R22 if you’re feeling adventurous.
Not confident landing on the pads?
This could be the perfect flight to bring a helicopter with floats. There’s water close to virtually every stop, so if squeezing onto one of the smaller pads is stretching your skills, just find yourself a nice patch of water nearby.
And as always, fly whatever you enjoy. Nobody will mind if a bush plane on floats joins the helicopter convoy.
A note for our Xbox pilots
Sorry, Xboxers! The freeware scenery we’re using this week is just too good to pass up for a Monday flight.
I’m not sure exactly what you’ll find at each location without the add-on, but I’d imagine there’ll still be something around many of the stops. You’re absolutely welcome to come along regardless.
