Right now, I’m going with spaghetti code confusion. It’s like their barber pole fix for over speed. They “fixed” it months ago but SURPRISE, their “fix”only fixed one of the displays. Spaghetti code! Same with their “Press any key to continue…”. Rather than actually removing that non-sensual code of logic, they added more code to avoid it on normal startup. We know this because it’s still there if their brilliant update procedure doesn’t go exactly to plan.
So anyway, now update 7 is “most likely” the fix for update 6 it would seem
