Time permitting, I can reinstall the Maule and take it for a flight. It has been a long time since I binned it so I can’t give highly specific assessments at this point other than I remember it being completely out of control on the ground, even more than most MSFS taildraggers and that in the air it had more of an inherently unstable feeling like an aerobatic plane as opposed to an inherently stable plane like a C172 or something else of similar configuration. I prefer a yoke but will use what ever the aircraft I’m flying has which is another reason the Maule is attractive to me. The profile I use for the default C172, WP C172 and Carenado C182RG should fit the bill for the Maule so I’m pretty emphatic that it’s not a control issue on my end. Also, the three aircraft I mentioned all fly as I’d expect and inline with my real life experience in C172s. With respect to the higher performance engine and wing, the Maule just does not. But I will try again. Perhaps they’ve patched it and/or sim updates have helped it. It has been about a year since I’ve flown it.
EDIT: In the buyer’s remorse thread, someone brought up the Aerosoft Twin Otter. That plane is actually somewhat comparable to how I remember the Maule flight. Just odd and unstable with a weird sort of disconnected sensation.
