May 18, 2023 Development Update Blog Discussion

Hang on - you specifically mentioned the cost of the night lighting packages in your original post - you stated that in your opinion they were overpriced for what they are, suggesting that you’re perfectly happy with them being in the marketplace, just not at the price being charged. There was no mention of Captain Sim or any other developer in your post, so please don’t try and pretend that you’re now some consumer campaigner arguing for better quality products, as that clearly wasn’t the point of your original post.

As it stands, anyone is free to submit their product to the Marketplace (much like Amazon, as you mentioned in your follow up post) - yes, we all pretty much know that some developers will have better quality products than others, but again, that’s an entirely subjective view - if a cheap CS product suits the needs of a simmer, then they should be perfectly entitled to buy that product if it’s available. Let’s face it, PMDG released a massively faulty product over 18 months ago that had clearly never been tested on an Xbox, so even the best developers can release bad products - should they now be penalised for that, or should they be free to continue to release products that the consumers want to buy?
