Excellent! When microsoft stop supporting win 10 this autumn, I will hop across to win 11.
Gives me a bit more breathing space to save up for a planned PC upgrade first, then a new headset later.
Very good news indeed.
Had to figure after all the other stuff he’s come up with if there was somebody out there that would find a way around this it’d prolly be him! Thanks Matt!
I figured what would kill it is either I’d be forced to go to Win11 or my cable would die. Bought a spare a long time ago just in case. Looks like I might get more miles out of the G2 than I thought! This is awesome!
It’s a pity that it will only work with NVIDIA GPUs
My day has just been made!
Wou, great, and funny video haha.
And the most important, I have not to pay 10€ still for the Xbox politics, for to change the nick a second time hahaha
This will work with the MSFSs MS Store versions, right?
It’s being reported that a VR user has created a driver that allows Reverb G2 to work with Windows 11 24H2.
You may know that those of us who have a G2 were eventually going to see them become paperweights when Microsoft deprecated WMR. When I heard that news I immediately hoped that someone would come up with a driver that would obviate the need for WMR.
Looks like the dream is becoming (virtual) reality.
It remains to be seen whether it truly works as intended.
Note that the new driver will only work with nVidia cards.
Not just any ‘VR user’, but @mbucchia himself, the developer of OpenXR Toolkit. It is in safe hands.
Wow! Didn’t he always state, that this won’t be possible. Hope its not a very cruel joke… But otherwise this is really great news!
I remember hearing the same thing: "Sorry G2 users, you guys are SOL when Microsoft deprecates WMR. There’s nothing that will replace it.
It’s pretty awesome to think that @mbucchia has made this a personal crusade to save a dated, yet still viable VR headset from the grave.
