Maybe my problem is different. (Please tell me it isn't) *VIDEO*

So, I’ve posted in several threads about the terrible performance since the latest updates, but I’m noticing everyone has it pegged to scenery / areas. the behavior I’m seeing is also that anytime I move the cursor, whether in the menus, loading screens, or in the actual sim, the screen freezes. Once I stop, it “catches up”, and I am able to click on the button or control. It’s like the game stops drawing if my mouse is moving over it. I have tested ALL the MSFS settings (even though nothing was changed. All I did was update, and hit “go”) I also do not have this problem with any other game or 3D application. All other games / benchmarks run absolutely flawlessly at max settings. Example: In the welcome screen, music playing, world turning. As soon as I budge my cursor to click on world map, it freezes. A couple seconds later, the window highlights and I can click it. Then if I hover over “Departure Airport”, it takes a second for it to “light up” as clickable. This is the case in all menus with all buttons, as well as in the cockpit, Including looking around. Right click and drag, a second or two later, I’m looking god knows where. Is anyone else noticing this?
Here is a video of the behavior. Again, It does this in ALL screens.

Found on AVSim

I had this mouse lag today when looking around, and I remembered I had experimented with the momentum effect set at 100% in the cameras menu at the top of the screen.

I set it to 50% inside and outside. Seems about right or it actually zips around too quickly at zero.

See if that helps. It might vary on different systems or with frame rates.

Thanks. Don’t think that’s gonna do it, because this behavior starts as soon as the program runs. Even the game studios, Asobo, and BlackShark opening animations are affected. Move the cursor, and they freeze. I’m about to try it though. I’ll report the results.

No change… I took a video. As soon as I figure out the easiest way to, I’ll post it.

Added video to OP.

What kind of mouse?

Wired PS2
Wired USB
Wireless USB

Hello,

there are two behaviors side by side.

One is the lame behavior in the main menue. Fps drops to 10, 12 or 15 fps. This can be (often) solved by waiting some 15 seconds after the start of the sim without doing anything. Also there is some lame behavior after loading the flight in some areas when the sim loads the data. Here (often) helps to wait some seconds again or to switch to outside view, take an (stuttering) 360 degrees view and switch back to the cockpit. Not as intended but in bad times, every straw counts.

Second behavior is immediately drops of fps from somewhat around 30 in my case (G2 at full res and medium to high settings) down to 1 or 2 fps when crossing some invisible borders. This can happen everywhere and everytime, even after an 4 hour flight without any problem before.

Its two different things!

Wireless USB. Corsair Dark Core Pro.

Turn Dev mode on and see if your manipulators are through the roof.

Cant now. Broke down and decided to uninstall and reinstall… See you in a week LOL

Oh noes… My bet is you have the same issue nearly everyone else has and this won’t help.

I would have a bare min found a usb mouse and plugin and then test a few times. If good to go then mostly mouse reset.

There were reports of Wireless and Blurtooth devices being activated/deactivated by their drivers.

Also, my Bluetooth rechargeable keyboard was doing
exactly what you describe.
I disabled the option to Turn It off in Device Manager.
That fixed it,
Note that you will have additional battery drain by doing this.

In Device Manager, find your device.
Look at the “Power Options”.

There is a lot of posts concerning your problem.

See what you you can find.

Reply back if still needing help.

I sure do appreciate your help, but I had literally just pulled the trigger on the uninstall. Once it’s reinstalled, I’ll try. Thanks again.

This is one of the threads.

After reading a little, that seems to be an issue with the device going to sleep / waking up. My mouse isn’t asleep when this starts as I’m actively using it to move the cursor and click options. This is a pause each time i even move the mouse a single pixel. The more I move it, the longer the pause. If I keep swirling it around on the pad, I can keep the screen frozen infinitely.

Update: The install has started, and on the “:welcome. set your experience” screen, I can freeze the download (or at least visually) by moving the mouse around on it…

Ok.

But moving the mouse causes an interrupt to the CPU which will
respond (interrupt FS2020) and move the cursor but FS2020 has to do something (which I cannot explain) but save the screen in cache,
save it in memory (virtual) or something and then move it and then display the new screen.

I would look at the drivers
