It seems the correct and logical way to be honest. The purpose of a medivac flight is essentially just that a flight to transport someone with urgent medic needs. A flight for passengers is fundamentally to move them from one location to another.

But surely by definition of having someone on board my plane, I have passengers? Opposed to say cargo or boxes.

First flight missions also count to the number but there I’m not moving people from one place to another as you suggest but to and from the same airport.

While I agree you are transporting someone I think you’ll find it is the purpose of the flight that counts towards the goal. The purpose of a medivac mission being to transport a patient in need of medical attention and you are moving them for that purpose. Whereas passengers are making a planned trip whether that be a holiday, business trip or whatever, i.e. the purpose is to move from location A to B as a passenger on an aircraft.

In a nutshell if you want to achieve a goal of a number of passenger flights completed you will need to ferry passengers. Likewise, if you wanted to achieve a goal of completing medivac flights you would need to do that mission type.

The requirement of the specification reads “Score airplane missions with passengers with A or above.”

It says nothing about the purpose of missions having to be passenger transport.

It means that if you’re flying with anyone other than the flight crew, it should satisfy the requirement; so yes, medivac should definitely count.

I medivac mission is for transporting patients. A passenger flight is for movement of passengers strangely. Its is purely a binary way to program this into code.

Would you also argue that a coffin carrying a deceased person in the cargo hold should also count as a passenger or should it be cargo? FYI it would be cargo.

I think we need to employ context clues and basic reasoning in this instance. A reasonable person would accept and understand that medevac patients don’t count as a passenger for this, regardless of whether they think they technically are a passenger by definition of the word.

I don’t really agree.

If patients do not count as passengers (which they do, as they are simply just a type of passenger) that should be stated explicitly in the requirement.

I agree it could be reworded to be more clear, had I written it, I would probably phrase it as:

“Complete 15 flights with a grade of A or above in .”

But I still think if you consider that fact that you’re unlocking airline passenger transport, one would assume, game mechanics-wise, the types of flights you need to complete to unlock that would be the lower tier equivalent, i.e. charter. Personally I never would have considered that medevac might count towards it, but I am a game developer, so I naturally consider the game mechanics side of it, rather than the literal definition of the word passenger.
