I’ve been away for sometime and trying to add an old plane I had but forgot how… I know it goes in the Community folder-I think- Are there and info post here???
Just that. Unzip it to community and make sure the next level down in the folder has the layout and manifest files. Sometimes the Zip will have another folder within it first but usually not.
Weird. Send a screenshot of your folder structure and what you see inside the plane in question please.
Well it looks correct. Is that a freeware Phantom? Not the DC Designs one? The only other I’m aware of is by Flight Sim Squadron but their folder names always start with flighsimsquadron-xxxxx.
Not heard of maxx2504. Have you checked if any compatibility updates are available? It’s definitely for FS2020, not FSX or something?
I think it might be FSX, sorry.
No worries. You mentioned a memory lapse lol
It was offset by a whole generation though. Your process was correct though, so there is that ![]()
I just found I have MSFS2020 on 2 different HD. How can I tell which is the correct one, any idea??
Umm… if you have an icon on desktop to launch it, right click and properties and see what drive the EXE it’s pointed to is on maybe?
Or, maybe risky so don’t sue me, but you could rename one top level folder and see if it still runs. If it does run then that was the “not installed” one probably. If it doesn’t run then name it back and delete the other one. Maybe!!??
Have you also got 2 community folders?
If so I just thought of a safer way to check which is real. Empty community except for one thing in ONE of them. Load the sim, see if it appears. If yes, move it to the other one and load the sim just to verify that it then DOESN’T appear.
Which ever it appears in game for would be the real one I guess. Just not sure how that would work with other places it puts files like /local / remote etc. should be OK if you only delete the game installation files of the duplicate one though.
I think I figured it all out. Thanks
